I remember renault said something about the track width on 182 cup suspension, if the hubs are the same and the wheels are still ET45 (on a 182 cup or cup pack) then the cup 182 suspension has the same track as a normal 182?
so it gains track width from the subframe, and also from the wheels which are ET 38. The hubs from a 182 cup have about the same width so doing the math the 172 has the wider track. I'm a bit surprised as to why renault would make the newer 182 narrower?!

I'm inclined to believe that there are some bad batches out there, they still have a good reputation. mine are fine btw (no track days so far just the occasional spirited drive through the mountains)
there are obviously more ways of measuring, but I wouldn't just rely on manufacturer's claims alone, as I said GAZ for example can't give a usable 60 mm drop on the front, and going beyond 60mm is also impossible (talking from my experience)

have you measured beneath the subframe before and after? that doesn't look like a 60 mm drop on the front tbh.
GAZ said that their coilover kit which I have could go 60 or more mm lower but in real life if I tried to go 60 mm lower the car would be standing on the bump stops on the front...
I was mostly referring to what happens to the angle of the lower arms and the driveshafts if lowered that much. things like the roll center will be all over the place but maybe this stuff is not that important if not hammering it about in the corners or doin' track days
