you mean the fork (or lever as you said initially) fingers that press the release bearing onto the pressure plate? is that where you greased? never heard of clutch diaphragm before
so you say it's rubbing where the release bearing touches the pressure plate fingers? interesting to see if this cure lasts, so please report back if it's coming back soon
go and measure the front bolt spacing on the shocks, if it's 60 mm then you have the cup suspension as well, if it's 54 then you have the normal sport suspension.
try to get the hankook RS-2, they are cheaper than most top brands and very well rated here. if you can't find them in your country order them from outside. they are very good in the dry but wear quickly
If you want something good all-round (durability plus grip) get the new michelin pilot sport 3
now the car works fine after some start/stops. so don't think that anything would came out at a diagnosis. basically I have to wait for it to go wrong again and call someone to have the car inspected while still cold, otherwise problem could easily go away if I'm going there and the engine gets...
Today when the car struggled to start again (after 2 days of wet weather/fog/light rain) I realized that it only did this when the weather was wet and cold (late autumn and early spring months)
Each time the cure was to take out the leads and clean them and/or driving till the engine was up to...
once the bolts will arrive I'll set the camber myself, then after a while I'm gonna do the tracking and compare their results with mine-camber wise ;)
there is obviously room for improvement, first thing I want is to make a system that holds the gauge to the rim, then the reading will be a lot...
yeah it's easy if you live in UK, Ireland or Scotland ... Romania.. not so good, they don't deliver there. found myself another website but they didn't shipped here also. 22 incl vat is not bad, but transport will be an extra 30-40 so basically about 50-60, cost me 3 pounds to do this ;)
sound wise you get a lot of reports around here. they are decent, louder than the original but not too loud. if one thing milltek owners are happy about is the sound they make
I'm just curious about how many experienced problems with these systems? many say they crack, others are pleased.
So for the help/curiosity of others I'm trying to launch a few questions:
1) date of purchase
2) date of install on the car, mileage done with the system
3) problems yes/no
I'll go...
I guess you'll gain a fair bit more in a clio :) cheaper than supercharger or a turbo upgrade and more user friendly. doesn't put a lot of stress on the box as well, then why not?
195/50 r15 r888, and yeah they are wider than a regular 195 tyre. seen this on a megane r26 which had 235 r888's and they were clearly wider than the ps2's he had on the rear
Since I'm having some camber bolts coming soon I tried to come up with somethin' to measure the camber, after realizing that a digital camber gauge was out of my reach - cheaper ones that I've found couldn't get them ordered to my country so my attempt went like this:
drawn the item in acad...
I have them and I'm happy to say that all the knocking went away after fitment. nicer to give it the beans also :D
Recently a friend drove my car and he said it definitely feels more responsive if not even a little quicker than his- he's got a 172
I managed to keep up very closely with another...
I don't have bodies but here's my point: If the sound they make (which is awesome) won't get you mad over time then I don't see why they would be different to a normal car day to day. It's not like fitting a sadev g-box which is un-driveable around town. The engine will remain NA, smooth power...
was playing in acad and decided to make a drawing explaining how these mounts are workin' if others will want to know :)
correct me if wrong though!
pic shows driver's side mount
no the k-tec ones are fixed :(
you have coilies and probably built in camber adjustment, you can play with the caster using the AST ones, should be pretty cool to try different settings on a track day
danny probably recommended you should move to other coilies (other brand) since GAZ ones aren't...
