I know. Next time you've got your orbital out any chance you could do them for me for a bit of £?
Your the only person I know who has one.
I'd get one myself but i'd get it, attempt to fix headlights, probably wreck the paintwork around them, put it in a cupboard where it would stay forever.
I've found mine fine in my 172. The rubber ones in my 1.2 I found a nightmare when wet, the clutch was heavy and would just spring up sometimes if your shoes where wet.
I prefare the origional rear end. Only PH2 parts on my car is the rear lights.
It makes the back of the car look a bit fat with the PH2 bits on it, a little busy. Just doesn't suit the old school look of the PH1 imo.
Each to their own though mate, looks a nice example.
Looks mint Chris. How did you get the lights so clean? mine are all glazed and I don't have a PC to polish them with.
Want them cleaned before I get HIDS.
Comparison Chart Renault Clio 2.0 16v Acceleration 80-120 km / h (s)

PH-Quick ;)
Fair enough, what mileage is it on now then?
What mileage are the dci engines good for before things like turbo's start going. My mates just got a 2007 Megane 1.5 DCI on 93K FSH inc belt changes, it was an ex-company car. Got it dirt cheap at £3150, i'd just be concerned because i've heard of...
I'd go for a good condition RB 182FF if I where you mate. Insurance on CTR's is more, I couldn't get a quote on one at 19, said you have to be over 21 where as a 172 was fine.
The spec of the Clio is much better for the price too. £5.5-6K gets you a mint 2005 ish RB 182FF with all the toys...
+1 Because a clean Saxo VTS is about £1500, sometimes even more, cheaper than a clean 106 GTI.
Saxo VTS with breathing mods, coilovers, 306 GTI6 brakes, lightweight alloys like prorace 1.2's = win.
Good little cars these. Tried to persuade my grandad to get one as a run around.
It doesn't look too slow either. Definately enough punch for a daily driver.
Its a very very good example. I need to spend a few hundred quid on mine to get it in that sort of condition. Good luck with the sale mate. If I was after one i'd be knocking of your door right now with £3000 in £20's.
Sounds good mate. I think I could do with a bit more noise from my stealth. Sometimes wish i'd gone supersport now. Although my CAF less airbox make up for overall noise but I want more exhaust.
Fair enough mate. The infirno looks good. Shame its cup packed otherwise you could have put your coilies on. Are you selling any bits off your ph1? I wouldn't mind the HID's if your selling any bits.
Mines been generally good. Never left me stuck anywhere to date.
I wouldn't say a ph1 172 will be any less reliable than a ph2. Fact of the matter is if its been looked after it will look after you. Goes for any of the Renault sport range.
Really sorry to hear about the Meg mate. Its something you expect with BMW's, Mercs, Scoobies and Evo's but not a Megane.
Hopefully the 172 won't attract such attention, it looks good though.
As a replacement for a standard cat thats knackered if you got it cheap its a good idea.
As a performance upgrade its a complete waste of time. May give a 0.1bhp gain.
I vote there. Simply as it is within a 10 min drive from my house rather than my usual trips to Manchster or Warrington for meets.
Although to be honest I don't care where we go.
