I'd have no issues about using mine day to day, but as it's a toy it's normally once or twice a week at the mo.
If mapped properly and driven sensibly, the mpg should still be sensible, I used to get well over 30 mpg out my black one, and 40 wasn't a problem if driven sensibly.
Maps not...
Cleaning the tb won't fix it, it sounds like a very bad missfire.
Check it has the right plugs, as these must have the correct ones - I had to fit Bosche super 4's once and it misfired like a pig until I fitted the correct ones (People tend to not fit them as they are about £70 from Renault...
Easiest route i'd say (if you're after outright power) is better rods and pistons in your current block, and a medium sized turbo hanging off the back - with a decent ecu and map you should be around 300 bhp
I got all 4 wheels off the floor top end of 3rd gear up by dans :S
IF you can get the bits cheap, put in some work yourself you should be able to make a good saving
Hey mate, it all depends on if you can source the parts 2nd hand - if you can get the bits at a good price then it will be 20-30% cheaper than buying new, but as a rule of thumb i'd be budgetingat least £2500-£2800 to do it properly if you cannot do any of the work yourself
But if you need...
Please excuse the poor quality - taken with my phone and on photobucket lol.
Thought I'd stick these in here as I really like them.
First one was at the Mall at Cribbs Causeway in Bristol at Xmas time, and the 2nd was 7am one morning as I was leaving for work and saw these two planes
Use the search function dude, it's covered all the time and then you will be able to have a read and decide what will be best for you
(And with regqrds to performance, even the best kits only offer a few bhp-nothing noticable, it's more about getting noise but not loosing power like some do lol)
Most likely fully syth mate if its 5w40 - most oils that viscocity are fully syth - id reccomend going with fully, it offers better protection
The Pro S is a very good oil!
The Pro S is an awsesome oil - made the K series in my elise sound like it was barely running - so quiet.
Plus it smells great (Obviously one of the top things you look for in an oil lol)
Elf is ok - My Clio currently has Shell Helix VW PD Spec oil in it - still plenty good enough...
As Fred has said, the stock tb does not restrict flow - you do get the effect it has improved things if you fit a bigger one mind, but thats only because the butterfly is physically larger and for every % you open the throttle, a larger one will naturally let in more air - what this tends to...
Re: Grey With Trinkets, Russ' 29th RS Clio

Dan really isn't bigging it up either, in the metal it is stunning - Sam really has gone to town on it and all the little touches he has done are amazing
Lol! Yeah it was pretty bad wasn't it :o
I'm just holding off on the engine until we have finished the map and (Hopefully) it may mean I won't need to swap engines - then it will get a proper dressing :) ( is your rocker cover painted? I can't remember and I'm tempted to paint it)
It's Porsche grey Black, off the GT3 RS I believe :) and last time it was on a set of rollers it made 208bhp and 178 lb ft of torque
Yeah the MX wheels are too small, as I tried a set off a mates car on my other Clio, but big thanks on the possibility of the 16s! :star:
