Re: Grey With Trinkets, Russ' 29th RS Clio
Been out for a drive this morning as I had to pop over work and sort out the end of month stuff, and the Clio is noticeably better on cold start, and seems a bit more eager at lower revs - will be good when chip and I get some more time on the map ...
Re: Grey With Trinkets, Russ' 29th RS Clio
Smashing dude, really do appreciate it - yeah I can take a day off work if needed, I'll keep you updated on it and when you're back we can sort it properly :)
It was nice to open it up on the way home without fear of it going bang - it really does...
Re: Grey With Trinkets, Russ' 29th RS Clio
Update time!
Well had a full day today, got to dans for 10:30 with the Clio and claires meggy.
While dan cracked on with a few jobs on the meg, chip very kindly came and had a look at the map for me (which wouldn't have been possible if Big ash...
Re: Grey With Trinkets, Russ' 29th RS Clio
ah poop dude, well we are doing bits on Claires meggy so will be there in the afternoon too so if you can, come over x
Lol true Roy, another 200bhp on top of this would be fairly easy with a medium sized blower and some lower compression pistons lol - oh the joys of n/a!
Top Inlet is easy - the bolts you see across the front, plus the two either side of the coil pack at the back.
Don't forget to unplug the various sensors-map, ait, tb etc.
And don't do the inlet bolts up tight! They are only meant to be nipped up, so many people do them up FT and either...
428's are although better than standard are still fairly mild so you would normally need itbs or an rs2 to see 200 - mine has 428's and itbs and last made 208bhp/178lb ft so you should be around the same if you went for bodies mste
IMO I think it's great - it's good to see someone has done it because 'they can' - 100% agree it's fairly pointless. as said a turbo charged car will be faster and cost less, but if we all did the same things it would be a very boring world!
Re: Grey With Trinkets, Russ' 29th RS Clio
Turned up today mate - thank you! (i'll drop you a text tomorrow, have a question)
Will see mate, i'm not sure it will be as simple lol
Re: Grey With Trinkets, Russ' 29th RS Clio
T'was what I was thinking mate, it's better compression than my black Ph1 was - though since I have fitted that genuine cup alternator it has ran spot on with regards to misfiring (I think you were right, in that other alternator it had was causing an...
Re: Grey With Trinkets, Russ' 29th RS Clio
Lol you're not a c**t mate, all open to our own opinions, and of course it's fine to say what you wish about it :)
The wheels will be going back red, don't worry :)
Don't make the slap you x
Well, small update time again.
I...
Re: Grey With Trinkets, Russ' 29th RS Clio
Not much to update, other than I am taking it to work to compression test it, then it's off to Dans on Friday to meet Chip and see what we can do with the map - can't wait as mapping is an area I know little of, so really looking forward to getting...
Didn't take you long to get it off lol - want me to bring a fuel rail guard with me? or is the other thing we were talking about not going to be long...
Re: Grey With Trinkets, Russ' 29th RS Clio
Poop - looking more like rings as you said mate :(
Well I think I'll hang off the engine swap for a bit, get it remapped and see how long it lasts lol.
Strip and freshen up my spare lump, ready for the inevitable
Re: Grey With Trinkets, Russ' 29th RS Clio
Should be interesting to see the outcome mate!
On a plus side, so far the battery is fine so hoping the new alternator has solved the electrical issues
Re: Grey With Trinkets, Russ' 29th RS Clio
Awww a before and after lol
Well I popped it on a ramp at lunch, drained the oil/petrol out lol - seriously it stand of fuel!!
Changed the oil filter, and ran 3 litres through it while the sump plug was still out to give it a bit of a flush...
