IT could be yes, but take a snap of the top moutn, i want to see how farward you have put it, as I fell into the trap years ago with this and i didn't think you could move it very much but you can move it quite a lot.
The dogbone mount is the one under the car - you can get harder bushes...
won't be the panel filter mate.
Could be a tensioner/idler on it's way out? My brother had an older astra that sounded like a diesel on idle and it an idler
just make sure it's on the flat and switched off for (as you say) about ten minutes - from cold all the oil will be in the sump so you will get a good reading, if it's been running then leaving it for ten mins or so gives the oil chance to drain back down.
tbh there isn't a huge amount you can check - i'd compression test it, but as long as it pulls well and doesn't knock it's tits off (which last time i heard it it didn't lol) then i'd not worry too much.
You know the old saying if it ain't broke don't fix it, modify until it does lol
Yes mate, mine had never been apart - it had the itb's, and a yozza cat back exhaust, that was it.
I do get what he is saying, in that a lower mileage engine will be a better starting point, but with how cheap these engines are nowadays I wouldn't hesitate in sticking some cams and itb's on a...
i'd doubt it is coil pack as I can't see how it would misfire at low revs but not at higher revs as it is doing a constant job.
have you had fault codes read mate?
Welcome mate :)
It is possible but a bit of a ball ache as you need to think about brake and suspension upgrades - have you taken into account the extra insurance it will cost?
With a decent 172 costing £1500 these days it would be much more cost effective to buy a 172 dude - is there a...
With how well you have looked after it over the past 80, 000 odd thousand miles mate it wouldn't surprise me if it was still fine, but imo it comes down to budget, if you want to go decent power levels then getting another and rebuilding it isn't a bad idea as you know with a decent rebuild all...
I'd be looking at big ends mate - the resonance of the knocking can make it sound like it's top - I've had that in a clio before.
Tbh mate fit another engine - if it's span a shell ( which I'd lay a big bet it has) it would be cheaper to change than rebuild.
Pm dan (sjm) and see what he...
Too many variable's in it, individual car condition, cam timing, quality of modifications, driver skill, etc etc
But normally it's down to who has the biggest balls on the road - ie the one who is most stupid.
What civic btw? Tyre r?
Do NOT swap rocker covers - they are matched to the heads and although it is possible to swap them it's a right ball ache.
The 182 does run a different breather set up but can be modified easily enough- just re use all your current bolt ons and it will be fine
I also think the grilles being black would look really nice
Car is coming along great mind, I quite like the blue wheels, go well with the white paint! :)
