Re: Ben_stevo172 - Supercharged Monaco 172
Well depending on what PFC get back to Darren with, but realistically there must less than 15 turbo and supercharged cars doing the rounds and a handfull of well tuned ITB'd cars so if we could have the usual 0-60, 0-100, top speed runs etc... Maybe...
Mate try clio spares for the gear linkage replacement, I honestly can't see it being different to any other clio but ask josh when you phone
As for you gear selection issues and whining, it could be that they spilt some of the gearbox oil whilst doing the clutch change and as such it does'nt...
Re: Ben_stevo172 - Supercharged Monaco 172
Good effort mate.
Might be worth starting a new thread if it comes about.
You could have three groups Turbos Vs Superchargers Vs ITB's would be a laugh at somewhere like brunters
Re: Ben_stevo172 - Supercharged Monaco 172
That might be the case with some turbo engines but it's certainly not the case with ours.
But obviously we'll see after the 1st of Feb :)
Re: Ben_stevo172 - Supercharged Monaco 172
I don't think you'll have a problem hitting 1.2 bar, but I don't think you'll have anywhere near that at the redline.
And no matter how much you alter the VVT switch points or the timing if you don't have the boost you wont make the power.
As for...
Re: Ben_stevo172 - Supercharged Monaco 172
the uprated internals don't really cost that much, its when you start looking at gaskets, oils, coolant, honing the bores, timing tools, new timing + aux belt+ tensioners etc... the costs start to grow quickly
Bad news chaps, my "overnight parts " from america arn't going to be here till feb and as I'm half way through stripping the turbo kit off the car at the moment theres no way it'll be driveable for the end of the month.
Sorry.
I'm pretty sure every forced induction clio is putting out more torque than a 197, as such theres less need for a close ratio box as there will be a larger spread of power from lower in the rev range
Obviously if you were going down the high comp engine and ITB route where the powrer band will...
Nice one mate, you won't mind me popping through for a bit chat when you get this started will you?
Also if you want some proper advice from switched on people join RTOC as theres a lad from durham way got a 225 in his 5 turbo, and theres also another lad 3/4 of the way through his 225 engine...
Cher ching, I hope you got a lot of cash from the engine and itbs sale mate, as this will cost a few pennies.
What gearbox you going to use? As this is a conversion I considered for mine but decided against it as the amount of fabricated parts needed would be ridiculous, besides If you do...
Does that mean you don't class me as a homo? I'm truely touched.
Anyway back on topic, which one of those routes is the longest most dangerous with the most up and down twistiest road?
As that'll be the one that gets my vote
Kev says were all girls who don't know how to drive and as such he's disassociating himself from us.
He's obviously never seen the underside of your car like I have when we were getting mega air the last time we went to Tann Hill.
He'll be there
Yeah some great roads mate you'll have a blast, Gaz and Will were setting some right land speed records the last time we were out.
As for keeping up in the twisties i'll simply deploy my batman style smoke screen (tyre smoke) when exiting the corners so you won't be able see where yoir going LOL
