Definately possible IMO with pretty much the best components, but as Fred has said I would have thought it would have been higher revs to make that power (taken loosely touring cars of the day had circa that power but at 8500 rpm)
Don't go too low mate, it could end up putting pressure on the colomn due to the bigger angle - I would say a drop of an inch to 1.5 inches should be about right x
As it's officially up for sale, I thought it's best I give it a better clean up and grab some new piccies.
Still so gutted I have to sell it, (I'm still trying to work out a way of me keeping it, but family first) I went out Saturday afternoon and for 2 hours yesterday - Sun was out, roof...
Fred's right.
As a trader, every car I sell has to be fit for purpose - this mainly means I have to give a warranty of sorts for 6 months, although there are gray areas, so lets say you purchased the car for 25% under it's value then the trader has a right to argue that side - in simple terms...
Re: Productive day out at Danlp6's place yesteday afternoon with a couple of my clios
Oh Dan you have such a way with words, why sugar coat it, just get to the point
lol
I have a guy who wants to come view it tomorrow, (he called yesterday morning, and I only put the ad on friday night!) though I'm probably going to put him off until next weekend - it's filthy still, and I haven't had chance to refit a roof seal I removed to lube up, and it's pissing down here...
On a realistic dyno, a 182 would be circa 175bhp at the fly and 150 at the wheels.
A 172 I would be looking at 168bhp at the fly and 142-145 at the wheels.
Personal circumstances have changed a bit and I may be selling up :(
f**king gutted by this, so please no 'i knew you wouldn't keep it long' type posts as I really don't wanna hear it.
I am trying to work out a way to keep it, but I'm not sure :(
So if anyone might be interested, drop...
Unfortunately mate to me it looks like when you have plastic bumpers that fade to grey - thats what it looks like has happened to the splitter :( I think gloss black 100% :)
Does the drone continue over 40 mph or just at 40mph?
If it is there above 40, then I would say it's the n/s/f wheel bearing - it goes quiet when you turn left as all the weight of the car moves to the right, which will quieten the bearing down. Alternatively you may notice it may get a...
And if that wasn't enough, I'm buying another in a few months, fairly low mileage at 72k, and only has a fruity exhaust on - it will be returned to standard :)
