looks lovely mate!
Still can't believe you have a Clio, whats happening to CS?! Next Mase will stop kidnapping women, submarine technicians will stop working on Clio's, and Fred will actually have a car in where he doesn't need to do the timing lol
A weighted gearknob improves it even more! I'm selling my weighted Ricks knob and getting a Scunk2 one - prefere the looks.
Any plans for it mate? Airbox lid off for great noise and a few bhp loss
Looks lovely mate!
Power delivery is addictive isn't it ;)
I find power below Vtec is plenty for normal driving too.
Has yours had it's geo done? The wishbone bolts can sieze in (not greased from the factory) meaning new wishbones :( so check this on yours - if you can take the bolts...
It depends on what make you go for Rob, some can be a right earfull, and it's hard to decide what is loud and what isn't - have a bit of time on youtube and have a listen, see what you like, as some sound awesome :)
I just bought it! :D
All I had to do was send them the full amount, via bank transfere, the deed to my house, bank account and pin number, and my first born child.
Now I just sit back and relax while I wait for it to be delivered
To be fair a decent exhaust and manifold, filter and a new jet in the carb makes a world of difference - makes them much more fun and gives a good 15-20% power increase :)
10 inch wheels give the best feel, 13's are too big and 12's are a good comprimise as to fit 10's on you need 7.5 inch...
I Rebuilt the 998, my last classic mini's engine was this spec:
1014cc
12G295 cooper head
Re worked with stronger valves, springs
1.5 roller tip rockers
286 cam
1.5 inch su carb
Fully balanced bottom end
It was a rocket, needed a smaller cam (286 was too big) but once 4500rpm came it...
My guy makes so much noise I have never bothered trying to sneak, I usually run into the middle screaming AAARRRRGHHHHHH!!!!! - seems to work most of the time using some FFOOOSSS, the mase of molag bal, and fire.
This. Makes a really big difference.
Might have another go later, mine still freezes from time to time though, requiring a switch off and re-load, loosing what I had done :(
After 14 172/182's you think i'd be fed up of them lol, but i'd still buy another (and no doubt will) - hey i've still got most of an Exclusive in my lock up lol
Great cars, I wonder if the 197/200's will have this much of a following once their prices dip a bit more?
I still enjoy it - yes it's not as good as it could have been, but I mainly use it for racing mates and having a laugh building silly cars (I have an awesome beige Volvo 240 estate drift car)
I'm still enjoying it, about 60 hours in from memory, and still no where near the end of the missions - I literally just wander and I still can't believe I'm constantly finding new things
Apparently, the designers have to keep the same shape rear quarter panel - if you look back to the mk1 (The bigger picture of the above one) and the rear quarters all look roughly the same
The mk6 was like a face lift mk5, but the mk7 isnt.
The mk7 uses a completely new chassis, so although it looks like a golf, it is in fact a new model - and that was the trick according to all our blirb on it - a brand new car that looks like a familiar old golf - just newer.
Seems to work...
Sorry these are a bit late, as some of you know I usually post up some pictures when we get new cars in, we have had this about a month, but I've not had chance to get them up.
First impressions are good, looks are pretty much as predicted, more comfortable, quieter, feels a little better -...
The 197 cams are slightly more agressive than the 172/182 camshafts, and are fairly cheap 2nd.
The 421/438 cams are more agressive, and will offer more performance but cost a lot more.
Depending on the type of cams you choose, the cars state of health, the timing and who maps it will...
