    Why do you modify?

This. Iv never tried cigarettes or drugs, the last time I had a drink was in 2009. My grandad was a mechanic and my dad won his first rally 2 weeks after his 17th birthday so it's in my blood.

    PH1 / 172 Cup gearbox

Well speed wise, my old 172 would show just over 120mph in 4th up Avon Rise at Combe, where as my friends Cup would show 110 at the same revs, so im sure the difference would be noticeable (if not huge)

Bear in mind you just don't need the bare engine, box and loom mate, it's all the extras that go with it too, as you will need to uprgrade the cooling system, the brakes and the suspension. by the time you have changed all that, and diclared all of that on your insurance you will be paying...

clio 100 TCE 5door (the older one) weigth to use (kerb or gross)?

Gross weight is the maximum the car should weigh with whatever it has inside it - ie the combined weight of the car itself, with all contence, an example being if you need to carry some big stones and they weigh 50kg's each, you can work out how much you can carry by taking the gross weight of...

my ph1 - TO BUILD or BREAK

IMO I think it falls down to money and time. If you think the money spend on it would be better spent elseware then break it, and buy another one off here which has had £££ thrown at it - this also goes for time, if you think you won't have the time then it's better to get rid, buy something...

    BHP at the wheels

What dyno did you use mate? If you want one that lasts, get a custom one made. Years ago i had one made by bells silencers, was no louder than standard (this was on a jetta gti) and lasted a good near ten years
