Had one for years on all my ph 2 sports an never had any grief but end of the day there illegal, an do not meet requirements of the law.
Personally i'd now remove it as said officer will no doubt be keeping his eye out.
Its important these are kept greased to keep the braking performance optimum. I had it on my old 172, made it terrible under hard braking real nasty pull as the effort isn't equal.
Glad it turned out to be a slider though, nice cheap fix ;)
Strip it down an makesure all sliders are free an then try an push the piston back in with a set of large grips, more then likely seized piston in the caliper but you never know.
Not sure if a rebuilt kit is available but if it is it can save you a few quid.
Sounds good, I'm working but I'll try an get it off.
You'll never please everyone, its always about compromising. We should all be grateful that folk are going to the trouble of organising this for us.
Heavy! There actually off the trains I repair, we've recently changed design of dampers an Sachs have been producing the new ones! That's around 3 foot tall!
Tbh my missus has been pretty good, apart from opening the door on my old 172 into a KERB! Other that shes pretty good when she does drive them, she used to struggle in the 172 with it being on coils but in the old 197 she was sound as it was pretty easy to drive!
Only thing she does do is...
Right cool cheers, only reason I ask was during the steering/suspension overhaul I was going to grab some 172 cup wishbones but if there the same I won't bother.
Not to sure but I was pretty sure if you have xenon headlights your veichle must have a form of self leveling headlight adjustment an a form of wash wipe cleaning system.
Nah I was in me old icelandic ph2 172, it may have even been the one just to the right of yours. I'd only had it a few weeks, was me first CS drive out. I quite enjoyed it, shame there don't seem to be as many meets like this.
This is my T
Think a friend of yours owned it at one point
I absolutely love my Trophy, brought it back in July an two Weeks later I took it to the ring!
When I brought it it was fairly clean with loads of history, just a few age related marks (stone chips) which we'll soon be taken care of come the spring.
Other then a suspension an steering...
I usually average 36mpg, thats just to an from work and general driving in the week.
Usually average high 30's to 40's on a run! Even managed 48mpg on the way to the ring whilst sat behind me mates lorry! (but that was one long drive!)
