Next Update
Here is the workspace i have, quite chuffed I managed to clear up the garage as much as I have, with the Clio in it I have about 2ft in front and behind it which means I can use my work bench too:
Well I had a spare half hour tonight, so...
Different engine, same configuration though, called the same engine as its part of the same group.
Another example of VAG's madness is the 3.2 V6 that goes in the R32, the A3 3.2 and the Touraeg, all 3.2's with the same power, but all three different engines!
CC is all different on them, few...
Was gonna say i wouldnt worry too much, iv seen plenty that sound worse lol
But if there is a leak then get that sorted first, to me it does sound a little 'tappy' but i would have thought it would sound a bit noisey with the bodies on, and no inlet mani to deaden the noise?
The icv is bolted to the back of the inlet matey :S
Thats it , on the right hand side, has an electrical plug and a pipe that runs to the inlet elbow.
If you want i have a spare ICV for sale mate? Drop me a PM if you wish?
Also, check out my t/b guide in the guide section, as well as...
Forte power steering treatment, you can get it off ebay, iv used it in all 3 of my previous MK1's and although never completely cures it, has made all 3 99% better
134k now, still on original clutch, gearbox, head gasket etc etc
Few little niggly things to do, but generally nothing very bad at all.
Makes good power, does 35mpg and does all what i need.
