Just been reading up on the toe shims, look easy enough to fit.
So basically I need to get a printout from a 4 wheel alignment machine, fit rear toe shims and then I'd probably have to take it for tracking again?
Nah I didn't get a printout.
Back shocks look OK, no oil coming from them and no noises.
Would your average 4 wheel alignment shop be able to fit shims behind the stub axel or is it a specialist type of job?
Well just had the tracking done and it's still the exact same. There doesn't appear to be any signs of any crash damage and the track rod ends and ball joints have no play in them.
I just called quick fit about their 4 wheel alignment and he said cliosaren't adjustable at the rear so if the...
Just picked up a ph2 172 and thought I'd give the breaks and track rods a bit of a refresh.
Bought all the bits went out and can't find the dam locking nut.
They are the type which spin on the outer collar so the method of bashing a socket on ain't gonna work.
What options do I have...
Will this stuff be ok to use on the slider pins?
I usually use copper grease on the back of the pads but have never greased the sliders

2 of the same Yokohama on the back. Then on the front there a Bridgestone and an Avon.
Would I be better off putting both the Yokohama on the front and then going for tracking?
Just picked up a 172 and all's good apart from it seems to pull to the left slightly.
Noticeable under power or when traveling at a steady pace.
Checked all tyre pressures.
The only thing I have noticed is that the 2 front tyres are a different brand. Would this be the issue? Or is it more...
Hi guys.
I'm looking at buying a 172 cup from gumtree. Looks ok apart from it's had a full rear end strip and a omp steering wheel.
How will the mot go down with this wheel as I'm guessing the airbag won't be present..
But I read somewhere that the new rules say that as ling as the airbag...
Hi guys.
I'm going to look at a 182 tomorrow and the guy has been fairly honest and said the passenger side seat won't move forward or back.
Is this a relatively simple fix? It is a case of some runners off eBay or could it be something more simple?
When I had my 182 I used to use a tube of cheapo car plan black sealent they sell at eurocar parts for about 4 quid.
Worked perfectly fine every year for a year when I had to put my cat on for the mot.
Loctite do a black sealent but it's a lot more expensive.
Most black silicone sealent are...
There's nothing wrong with the olive joint if you use a good clamp and a good black rtv silicone.
Stay well clear or fire putty and the like as they just set brittle and crumble off as soon as the joint flexes.
From what I've read on here turbos seem to be the more common option for reliability, due to issues with chargers and the stock pulley setup. But it does seem that all the guys running massive amount of power seem to go down the charged route.
Yeah I would say release bearing from what you described.
Not sure how much garages charge but you may aswel put a new clutch in while the box is off. OEM valeo clutch kit is about 100 quid and comes with a new release bearing.
Its about a days work so not a cheap job if your paying a a...
That's what it says on my Renault service manual. Ring the stealers and ask, but you would be much better off with one of the tools mentioned in this thread.
I used a strong jubilee clip with no problems and it cost me about 2 quid..
you have to drain the box before you remove the ns drive shaft.
the box doesnt need to come out, i changed my clutch by just removing the rad, box mounts, battery and ecu. Didnt touch the subframe and the box just moved out the way enough to change the clutch. Might need to jack up the box a...
I wouldn't have thought so as all it does is press on the pressure plate to depress the clutch.
Its an auto adjusting clutch so should sort itself out.
I may be wrong but I can't see why it would be an issue.
