i was told that you need to strip the upholstery to get at it properly but someone posted recently to say that they'd managed to break it up without doing that, and that the new one just slides down and locks into place. personally, would look at stripping the seat first, but don't know how you...
bought some of this from my local dealer earlier (75/80; GL5), but have noticed that some on here say it should be TRJ, and others TRX - am i alright with TRT and does anyone know what the differences between the designations mean?
thanks!
think vibration's going to be the main consideration. sounds similar to your Xsara; i had uprated mounts in a 205 (which are very similar in layout to the Clio's) which were just remanufactured in harder rubber - they made a big difference, but vibration increased significantly (and was...
a good independent garage should easily be able to source and fit new front discs/pads, and free the caliper off for less than £200 i'd have thought (depends what's up with the caliper)
there's a Peugeot breaker on the Flowers Hill trading estate in Brislington, but he tends to deal with older Pugs. closest half-decent Renault breaker is apparently in Gloucester somewhere
don't think there'll be much (if anything) in it between the two, BUT, do think you can expect them to continue to bomb in value. ok, not as much as they have done in the last couple of years, but they're now down to 3.5-4, and will continue along that path imo (being a cheap hot hatch)...
don't think so - think the noise is just the springs shifting about in their cups whilst on full lock, due to the increased clearance in worn (compressed) rubber donuts. it's just slightly annoying if you want it to be imo. the OE top mounts are rubbish
that seems well cheap - the pair of components cost about £40 at ECP/GSF. can't go wrong at £6 though - you've not lost much at all if they turn out to be junk (assuming you're fitting them yourself). my exp. has been that renewing the top mounts helps, but that the noises return after a few...
i reckon the Trophy (and one or two others in the range) have got future classic written all over them - 20 years time, people will be looking back on contemporary vehicles, and there's little that compares. VW didn't get back in until the MkV, Peugeot haven't done anything remotely interesting...
still haven't driven one but they're undeniably an interesting car - defo assured of future classic status and all that mumbo. would have thought RR dampers are comparatively impractical on a daily driver (rebuild costs; insurance claim costs if you bend one, etc) - but, as with the V6 and the...
difficult without being able to compare, but mine used to do this and has recently started again
i had the rack reconditioned (unrelated problem) and renewed the mounting bushes as it went back on, and the noise went for a good while - but has recently returned. don't know what it is and would...
if it helps, i've got the (supposedly noisy) 2.5" stainless one on mine and noticed (*cough*) absolutely no difference in performance whatsoever (and wouldn't have expected to). wouldn't have thought a decent 2.25" mild system would be any different on an otherwise std. car. might even sound...
Cups are generally cheaper than non-Cup Ph2 172s. thing to do is to read up on the differences (the Cup's just a lightened Ph2 172; does without ABS/TC and some of the cabin comforts - there'll be a list of the differences somewhere), then (if that doesn't decide it) drive a few of each to see...
groan. it was probably stolen:rolleyes:
have heard some repulsive things about what some of the local lot do with their stolen dogs
try ringing your insurers and asking what you need to do - sounds as though it'd be difficult to sort it within your excess anyway
don't post dead-dog pics:rolleyes:
that's not good - seen two dead cats this week, on the way into work
did you report it to the Police? you're obliged to, as it's a dog (don't have to with cats)
just leave the cap on - it 'should' be sealed anyway. it's worth investing in an Easibleed (Halfords/£20) as well, as they make it so easy, and minimise fluid loss whilst bleeding
have you got the hoses there? have a look - they should have an internal thread that the solid line union screws into
ed. that, or the solid line union nut will be female - depends on the car
the 'nut' should have a female thread as well. screw the fronts into the caliper first, then the solid line union screws into the female end. the rears are female either end
