    Declaring different make of tyres?

don't know if they do, but i'd have thought they might be interested in road cars fitted with track tyres - as they can be chuffing dangerous on the road

    4-wheel alignment - a skilled job?

Protyre use a very impressive computerised rig that gives you a print out of all of the geometry angles (that you can't adjust on the Clio..) and they charge less than £25 for front toe adjustment on the machine (basically, it's just tracking). don't know how much they charge for adjustment of...

assume this is the rears? are the wheels still free to spin with the handbrake off? hang on - is it drums on the back? too many questions and no answers; sorry

    Headlights...

just any (new) bulbs; you could ask a garage to check that the alignment is within MoT specs or you could try adjusting them yourself against a wall to see if raising them helps. you obv. run the risk of unknowingly adjusting them above the MoT threshold if you try that though. i don't know how...

    Headlights...

bunch of things to check: - as already noted, headlamp alignment and bulbs - cleanliness of lens (don't look too bad) - cleanliness of reflectors (presume they're sealed units so, if you've discolouration/muck on the reflectors, might need new lamps) - check wiring/earth as can affect performance

Cat to Manifold Gasket - Where from??

if you don't mind using pattern parts, you could probably do that for about £7 if you can find a local Bosal dealer (shouldn't be too difficult): http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=363184&highlight=cat-%26gt%3Bmani

    Uprated Dogbone engine mount.

i think they're all the same; 2"s of movement's definitely not as it should be - is that all in buffer clearance?

    Uprated Dogbone engine mount.

Frank, the mount i used came from EuroCarParts but it's no different to the Renault mount in design. when new, the buffers should be a tight fit within the mount but they'll wear down in time, which is where the movement that you can feel by hand comes from. guess you could try closing the mount...

    Uprated Dogbone engine mount.

when i fitted my new top mount, the new buffers that came with it filled out the sides of the mount nicely; there's no real movement to be felt when attempting to rock the engine by hand, but there does seem to be whilst driving the car - i can still feel the powertrain 'shunting' whilst...

    Uprated Dogbone engine mount.

got one on mine and it's fine; i renewed all of the others at the same time. no noticeable vibration once it's settled in. new mounts should feel much better if you're currently on the originals, although, even with the poly dog bone bushes, you can still feel a reasonable amount of movement...

    2 ton trolley jack - lidl.....opinions

it doesn't seem to be coming up in the link but will presumably be TUV approved (?). worth a whirl and, as said, it wouldn't cost you much if it does ever develop a problem.

    clamps for fitting new exhaust

Mikalor/Norma clamps are good but expensive; u-bolt clamps are cheap and more widely available but can deform the pipes unless you use exactly the right size (need to accurately measure o/d of pipe)

    exhaust mount bolt

think it's the same as the bolt for the centre mount; could whip that one out, check, and measure/use that one to compare

First MOT. What should i look out for??

there's loads to check for but, as said, if it's being given a full service by a decent mechanic, they should pick up any real problems during the inspection service if you've got a Haynes manual, there's a MoT check section at the back (any manual - it's a generic checklist). lots of stuff in...

    solid engine mounts

fitted poly bushes to the dog bone on mine and renewed the other three mounts a little while ago and, whilst it does improve things, there does still seem to be quite a bit of movement. be interested to hear how the KTEC mounts feel. i had a set of GpN mounts on my last car and, as well as...

    just written my car off

if you hit a dog or certain types of livestock, you're obliged to report it to the Police (cats are fair game though - all iirc). that's disgusting that no-one stopped to help you:(

    cliosport / sheep / bothered

guess that, if it looks good (and it does, strangely..) and is 'easy' to replicate, someone's almost certainly going to have a go. i've only bothered modifying one of my past cars to the extent that i was highly unlikely to see another quite like it elsewhere (easy to do with minis) and, tbh...

172 pulls left - not tracking or tyres etc

does it pull to the right to the same degree if you drive on the other side of the road? (just wondering how much of the problem might be due to the car following the road camber)
