when i was shopping round for engine mounts, i couldn't find anyone who sold replacement rubber dog bone bushes on the aftermarket (not saying there isn't anyone) - so they may be Renault only.
you can buy a poly replacement (as i did) from Powerflex...
i think the one i bought from ECP was about £50; KTEC keep what appears to be a genuine Renault mount for not much more
they're really easy to fit - it takes about 10 minutes. providing you've a trolley jack to support the weight of the powertrain whilst it's disconnected, you could save...
there are numerous sections of heat shield and you'll need to scrub around underneath it to find whichever is loose and then go from there - zip ties, screws, packing pieces, whatever'll sort it
i was told they were just over £100 about a year ago; they'd previously been more than that, so it may have changed again since then
ed. to say that it'll cost you a lot more than that to have it fitted as it's a cambelt off job
can't hear a rattle but does sound as though it could be blowing a little (when you pulled away). shouldn't be anything rattling around in the boxes - as suggested, you've either a loose baffle or something in there that shouldn't be - not necessarily a big deal, mind
i was going to use Wheel Styles in Iron Acton as i got round to it but have recently read of a problem (Detailing World:quiet: ) that someone has had with them (re. delays) so not so sure now. anyway, he's apparently very good; about £70 per wheel.
there are a few well thought of places in...
what's the damage like? (piccie?)
might be possible to weld it back together for a modest sum but if it has corroded from within (as they do), it's probably a false economy
you can buy stainless aftermarket backboxes for much less than £400 (but likely more than the £120 OE silencer)
i've only done this job the once but think that you're probably best off doing the two gearbox mounts first, then the dog bone (whilst you're down there) and then the top engine mount (which is the easiest one).
not difficult, just time consuming first time round
with 5 prev owners, might someone on here recognise it?
it's a risk and, whilst the advert does inspire some sort of confidence, i'd still be wary. i didn't follow this basic advice when buying mine (was under pressure to buy one within a week for personal reasons) and bought a cosmetically...
you'll be able to buy the sensor (they're not cheap, usually) but doubtful with the wiring. can't see one in the 'photo but the wiring could be hiding ontop of the heat shield - need to have a hunt around for it
they're not on mine and it's always annoying when you've a landline fault and have to use the mobile (to report it:rolleyes: ) - all of these companies use 0845 numbers and you're charged a rediculous rate to use them. it's a swindle!
as said, it's a quirk of MAHA rollers. i don't understand how they work it (i'm sure P'station would happily explain as they must get asked a lot) but they do tend to record lower ATW figures than others - although the correction to fly figures generally seem about right. don't think you've...
think i paid £30+VAT for 5l of Elf 5/40 from my dealer - although that involved haggling. they also keep Motrio which is a lot cheaper
also be interested if you can buy Elf online at good savings
as davebem for me - not too difficult at all, although can be fiddly getting the struts back on without disturbing the springs in their cups
parts are about £60 from ECP (pair of bearings, pair of rubbers)
likely clutching at straws but i'm in desperate need of the rubber shroud that sits on top of the steering rack and protects the lower column U/J
expect it'll be another Renault parts dept job for Monday but i'm keen to get my car back together this weekend if at all possible and thought i'd...
