yellow Vantage looks mean but seemed completely outpaced by a lot of the rest of the field
got any shots of the Radicals? don't spectate at Coombe much and Monday was the first time i'd sat down to watch a Radical race - jeez, they're quick! (1.05ish?? i thought the outright record was only...
you've still got a flexing joint there, though.
i've just found this, which is annoying as i've just ordered a genuine Renault kit for mine at twice the cost: http://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product.asp?id=2334
if it is that joint that's the problem, it'll be much easier to fit to a 182 as...
there are four bushes - one on either end of the bar and two either side of the middle of the bar (underneath the car). i guess you could try lubing them with WD40 or something (just to give you a diagnosis). WD40 won't last long, though, and you'd ideally want to be taking the bushes off/out to...
Re: My b*****d Power Steering has gone to the f**king dogs!
as said, need to check where it's coming from.
i've had this and it turned out to be failure of the seals in the rack itself - the rack gaiter would slowly fill up with oil and then leak out
cheapest solution was reconditioning...
the order of doing things varies and depends upon loads of things (not least of all, the driver and the car).
also, track cars and road cars are different.
some might disagree (and it does depend upon the car) but the order of doing things with a dedicated track car might be:
[- safety...
don't usually but i've just been on a 1000+ml excursion in it and had to brim it three times (£150:dead: )
being a geek, i checked the accuracy of the OBC mpg readout whilst i was at it and think it's within 3-5% on mine
the fun thing's probably relative to the amount of hassle you have in running the car. it's difficult to compare the mini with anything less than 40 years old as things have just moved on so much - the basic design didn't change throughout production and the earliest cars will be 50 years old...
if it's the manifold->system joint, Renault are currently asking £40 for the kit of bits and, if you've got a 172, it doesn't look like a lot of fun to fit
i think mine also switches its warning light on at about 40miles (the OBC suspends some of the mileage readings until it's topped up again). the tank in mine takes around 9.5 gallons to top up once the light has come on; it's an 11 gallon tank - so you should be OK if you drive it carefully
just back from N Wales and spotted what looked like that new KTM roadster on Anglesey (possibly just been to the circuit) and, then, coming back along the Llaberris pass, it was there again, with a white Gallardo on Irish plates (presumably the same car as that in this month's EVO) and various...
it'll take time for wear like this to become evident but it might be that these cars are now too old for Renault to be taking much interest. be good if people could get together and make a representation though - may be RUK might be willing to offer wheels at cost or something?
could you...
if it still mings afters you've used what you've got, you come probably just roll up to one of these valet outfits and ask them to give it a quick going over with the wet-vac
will come undone if you stick at it - spray it with penetrating fluid, try using a long extension with a t-bar and 'shock' it round by jerking the bar - just need to release it
in Germany?
aside from genuine parts from a Renault dealer, we've the option of pattern parts from suppliers like CES (http://www.cesuk.com/) - the exhaust mounts are less than half the price of genuine Renault ones but you may be paying the difference in postage costs to Germany - ? could...
the Lotus Yokos are also a different (and unique) compound to the equivalents that you can buy off the shelf.
my (limited) experience of moulded semi slick track tyres has been that they're OK in the damp but 'not so good' when it's really wet. also, they're much less progressive than a good...
i'm sure he's a fairly savvy bloke and will probably have published the log of his efforts with half an intention of laughing off the negative attention it was inevitably going to attract. it's all hugely self indulgent, but it's his own time and money
just put a secondhand 'Mk2' KTEC system on mine and really like it - materials and construction seem fine, fit is good and easy, and i like the sound (sort of hollow bark - not at all tinny and not too deep [which would make it loud])
with these exhaust systems, i get the impression that...
CES (http://www.cesuk.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=77&Itemid=28) sell a pattern one for about £8. ask about their postage costs, though, as they automatically added about £7 for next day delivery on mine
ed. they're the same between the 172s and 182s BTW
got one on mine but then i've not long fitted it. rather hoping it won't trash the gearbox casing - it'd be good to hear a detailed explanation of the problems that individuals have had with them.
think i read on search that someone had found that it ovaled the hole - ?
not sure how easy...
the impression i got from the Dyson polishing thread was that said appliance belonged to his 'partner'; he mentioned that s/he was ribbing him about the work he was putting in to it. may be he's really good at polishing her button or something; who knows
anyway, think i'll have another go at...
tried to open the thread link earlier but my PC can't cope with it and i'm guessing it won't be worth it anyway
that dyson detail link, though, is absolutely priceless - going to have a proper read tomorrow
"Ok the last few days i have been a touch bored so thought i would give the dyson...
