I left the headunit on in my car, with the volume at zero (not on purpose lol). It seems to have drained the battery.
Now I'm thinking take the battery out and charge it, but the cars got an immobolizer and alarm and I'm worried that if i disconnect the battery for 24hrs it wont want to start...
Got to love the french aye.
Hows this for a plan, as the calipers fit my 1.2 hub, I know this because I was only one bolt away from sucessfully fitting the hub (Suipension strut bolt was out by a few mil) take the front shocks and hubs off my old 1.2 and put them on my 1.4?
Would I encounter...
Thing I find weird is this, Mine is the 1996 model however there was another phase 2 (1.2 however) there and its hub was the diffrent one.
I've got Lucas calipers, which apparently are shlte? so why are there 1.2's goign around with the bendixs?
Really don't know what to do now, took my hub down to this garage and got him to press an old bearing out and a new one in the silly f@ckwit has only got a broke the brake mounting bracket.
Been down to a brakers yard, there was three clios there all with the wrong hub for mine, there was a...
Don't fit :(
Quite gutted as apart from a few scrapes they're near enough mint, but for £40 with a brand new set of Firestone tyres whose complaining?
Got to put them on ebay now, If I got the measurements off the alloy would anyone be able to tell me what they do fit, they're from a Seat...
Sorry mate can you explain what the offset is exactly, I think it means how flush they are with the arches, if so I cant see it being a prob as they're pretty much the same size as my steels
the only part I can see the alloys not fitting is the in the middle where the center bore beds the...
Anybody?
Here is what he says about the wheels, they have been fitted on a Megane Sport and Seat Ibiza.
Is there any codes I can detect on the alloy which might say whether or not they'll fit?
Would 13" Megane Sport alloys fit on my MK1 Clio?
I just want some cheap and cheerfull alloys as I'll end up kerbing them anyhow.
£40 few scratches no major kerbing (Yet) kitted with Firestone F570 tyres and a spare get you home space saver.
They offer a wheel tracking service for £22, I hit a kerb at 30 about a week back and the handling feels diffrent now, would this tracking consist of adjusting everything or is it just basic wheel alignment?
Last time I had it done there I watched a bloke do it he put the car on the ramp and...
Sorted, I hope. bit of sponge around the roof lining next to the sun roof, the only problem is half the black seal isnt seated properly, am i right in thinking thats just to mak the car look tidy and not stop it turning into a fish tank? as its only slipped on there anyway so no where near a...
Has anyone got any tips on how to stop the nasty rattle coming from my roof, I'm sure some of you have encountered it, sounds like like two ball bearings rolling around in the lining (I have removed the factory fitted loose screw btw.)
When I put my hand behind the sunroof i.e about in line...
Remember that smell of eggs all too well, My problem was the HT cap losing it's seal so it basically just sat on the spark, and the other end of the HT leads, dunno the name guessing distributor? one of the few leads coming off it the main one in the middle had come loose over a bump.
It's french, so it's probably an engine out job lol. Nah seriously on the MK1 I know you have to remove the actual headlight cover. Can't really say for anyting non prehistoric.
To be honest I'm not 100% it's the rack now, I might have bent something as I mounted the kerb at 30 about a week ago and my problems started about a couple of days after.
I was reading about wheel alighment and it says if the steering feels heavy and the wheel kicks back when going over...
oh f~cking hell, I'm pretty sure it's the rack the steering has become sluggish and pretty much heavy. The wheel jolts when I go over bumps, errr what else. yeah it comes and goes sometimes the steering is normal other times it's hard.
Oh and to top it off I need a new wheel bearing.
Also...
First off let me wish you all merry xmas, and thanks for all your help and god knows I've needed it with my Renaults.
Anyway shes decided she wants a new Steering Rack this week, I was wondering what would a garage charge me to fit one on a mk1 PAS model?
Cheers lads.
So basically if you can afford it do everything you can to it whilst it's out. Because the soon as you drop it into the sardine tin and one thing goes wrong it's going to cost what doing the whole lot would whilst it's out.
I might get the tracking done see if that helps as the car pulls to the right and to go straight the wheel has to be at 11'oc.
can't see how that could affect how heavy the steering is though and why it's only suddenly started?
Tells you what, now I come to think about it I did actually mount the kerb last week at about 30mph - whether that could have done anything to affect it?
If I took it to somewhere like Hi-Q would they charge me to diagnoise the problem?
Just went out in it again and yes the steering is a lot heavier than it should be, although parking etc.. feels fine.
I was wondering will the PAS pack up completly or is it just likely to be hard during normal use as I can live with it like it is just need PAS for parking.
