even at slow speeds ? hmmm maybe silly but are the tires put on, running in the right direction ?
Had an experience once with a motorcycle, changed the tires and didnt get the running direction right. Drove a couple of meters and it went from underneath me when cornering !!
after searching on the topic "mounts" (ofcourse mine are on the way out....) i came across this thread.
Wanted also the group N's , after reading the price here i'm having second thoughts
any news on these uprated ones ?
hmmm , been saving for the H+R's , but after reading all of this thread i might be driving to Valkenswaard soon !
The Subaru drivers here in Holland also like the AST suspensions, though also a lot of reactions were that they were found too stiff/hard.
when driving to work every day, i warm it up for about 15min.
After which i will rev it some, to 7000, to keep her "loose" :approve:
Once warmed up, you can give it a proper beating. No worries
Hi Gaz,
excuse me for not understanding all of this, dutch guy he !
What do you mean with KG ? And what's Blank ?
I guess i must have al look before i know what we're talking about.
979,20 euro's to be exact.
Once you have found your way on this site, you'l notice that it's German language from there.. select your car-brand (bitte wahlen sie ihren fahrzeug) and you'll find your answer..
This has taken away any doubt to do this hub mod, thanks Peparami.
The H+Rs will set me back enough euro's. This adres is (in Holland) the cheapest you can get them, maybe interesting for people in England as well : www.dutchpowertrading.nl
I've noticed that he's gone up a hundred euros...
Nice one Gaz, and everyone else thanks for their reactions !
The man told me i should be looking for the H+R set up for the Clio Sport 2005year and up so now i know why.
He's also offering a lot of other 182 parts like wheels etc. . Because of his connections i'm thinking they can get a...
Thank you Gaz, this answer i can work with.
Maybe still worth it to get these hubs... (if mine are worn out)
I just did'nt know the 172 cup ones were smaller...
after reading all of the reactions i'm getting the feeling that i should not go on with buying the hubs he's offered me.
If everybody on here says there's no difference between the cup and the Trophy hubs then i am really curious about what the guy showed me. :S
bigger bearings, bigger...
Still, we compared the two hubs and it was bigger, also the bigger bearing in there. So not all are the same...
ANy more ideas anyone ?
...Maybe he showed me a Espace hub and is putting me on haha ....
I've also had experience with Pagid's , did'nt clean my wheels for a month and the dust had eaten its way into the paintjob . Impossible to keep clean if you dont do it on a regular basis.
Nasty stuff.. Now i'm using greenstuff , i'm too lazy for wheelpolishing
the crunching is def something else, suspension most likely. Nothing to worry about, it's the famous clio "knocking" . There are alot of topics on here, also the sticky.
Really dont think youre bearing have gone unless you've done a lot of miles 80 + ?
cheers, this is what i meant with getting other opinions. Great site to check up on things and learn some more
the regular 182 has the same track as the 172 though....
The mechanic warned me about the camber change. When the hubs are 0,4mm further outwards, it will automaticly change the camber.
No no, i'm quite sure the track is different in one of the clio versions. The trophee (i think) has the expensive Sachs but also widetrack . It's only 0,5 or 0,4mm on each side we're talking about. so it will fit without any problem in the fenders (?) no need for different offset wheels.
You maybe right here, i would'nt know if the hubs he showed me were from a 172 setup. We compared the two and it was bigger. He was talking about the Trophee widetrack setup. I thought the Trophee was a modified 172 ...
I'm from Holland but i'm thinking we are talking about the same cars.
Why not ? no sense in having the wider track ?
He also said the bearing is a lot stronger and will last much better than the cup one. My cup has done round 64k so maybe a good one to do with the 74 service coming up
The guy who does my car has easy access to Renault Sport parts , he showed me these hubs (?) to fit on my 172 cup. (It was the part with the bearings in it)
Before this i was already thinking of doing the H+r's , now i'm thinking of doing both at the same time.
Also getting group N...
