damn :(
could you explain in detail what the best solution is? do i make some sort of bracket that fits under the mount to spread the load? rather than it being concentrated on that piss thin piece of metal?
this is basically what i will be doing!
i think any supplier (SFS, Samco etc) will make any hose you like, its the cost that it probably the deciding factor :(
is it just common practice to stick a nut and bolt with a couple of washers either side onto the engine mount hole that is left after removing the standard inlet?
i know someone that did this but because the metal there is pretty thin it cracked (either due to overtightening or because it...
that doesnt look like the 172 item! looks way too long
i looked into the flexible coolant hoses, but not sure how good they are? http://www.cbsonline.co.uk/flexible-rubber-coolant-hose-80-c.asp
with my 172 hose, all i did was cut out maybe an inch or 2 and it stopped kinking
gutted, yeh i had to shorten it due to the location of the rad, otherwise it has a dirty great kink in it, ive got to do the same with the red SFS hose, cut n shut to stop it kinking lol
ive got all the hoses bar the top rad hose, well i have it, but its in 2 pieces lol
yeh we were a touch concerned about that aswell :clown: those ali brackets sit about an inch or so lower than the subframe, and the bumper sits lower than that, so unless i whack the bottom of the bumper it...
oh forgot to mention, i have done away with the FSE FPR (ben will be pleased lol) and used the Weber one, still in the same place as the FSE though, will get pics of that soon :)
not really a great deal to update, i have been really busy and really skint lately so the clio has taken a bit of a back seat :(
anyway i serviced the pug at the weekend so while i was over there i fit my new sensors from omex
cps sensor and bracket
coolant temp sensor
and air...
Re: someph-ing different...........
if you have the straight type dogbone (most likely being a ph1) then it's wrong, you need the yellow ones
if its the twisted type (i have heard of a few ph1's having it) then the purple ones are correct
altho i got the yellow ones for my straight dogbone...
i found a front on pic
although it doesn't look like it has had alot of work done, i love it!
i need to know how much work is involved in getting those rims on and getting the stance like that, if its just a case of coilovers and arch liners out i'll be amazed!
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
you've got some patience/determination!
i haven't touched mine in about 3 weeks, i need a break every now and again otherwise i would end up petrol bombing it! or worse.......selling it
anyone know the going rate for a set of used cat cam 421's
done approx 15k
if it's worth it i may sell mine as i am hard up at the min, and so the project has come to a grinding halt :(
cheers
don't know if this is relevant?
i was told by a mocal supplier that putting an oil temp gauge in any sort of 'external' T piece would not give a fully accurate reading, he even said putting it directly into the pressure switch location wasn't great and said ideally it wants to have a flow of...
that bracket can also be found on volvo's
as for the bolts, check out this thread, he lists some of the part numbers in there on pages 2 and 3 :)

cheers gaz
i remember you sending me that vid when we were sorting the sale out :D
well i got back from spain on sat night, back into work now :dead:
absolutely skint (got carried away on holiday) and still no sign of my cps sensor from omex, going to phone them later today
some of the early ones came with the fpr on the rail (like yours) and some of the later ones (still from a ph1) had the fpr in the tank, so the opening for the fpr on the rail was blocked off
mine is the one without a fpr in the rail, so i used an FSE to control the pressure
ive also got a...
