who said anything about performance? the thread is about emissions
and when you say 'virtually' no improvement is that a way of saying it might, but you don't know for sure? ;)
Re: My mk1 track car blog

Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project
good idea getting rid of the round gasket, nightmare to get it to seal! still dont think mine is 100%
not sure i get what you mean with the decat fitting the tunnel? do you mean height wise? that is one advantage of having the twisting gasket though, you can move it...
i will be waiting news on this then :D
as long as it can be used on cable throttle it would be ideal for my mk1, big hole in the bonnet for the inlet......bob's your uncle :approve:
at a complete guess it will mean the inlet butterfly will be alot closer to the slam panel? (i've got an image of what it might look like, sort of like an ITB airbox companies do for the 106 gti but using the single butterfly?)
to be fair you didn't commit 100%, so i'll let you off ;)
best of luck with it pal, i owe you a few favours (understatement!) so give me a shout if you need anything
if you haven't dabbled in cambelts before the F4R is not a good place to start!
alot of people on here will tell horror stories of how renault specialists have got the timing wrong doing the F4R, best left to an experienced renault tech.
not sure which ones are around your area?
about as big a job as the cambelt surely?
both pulleys have to be slackened to allow proper tensioning of the cambelt so i assume 'all' you have to do is replace the dephaser and refit the cambelt and then tension it up
one of the engine guru's will clear this up though
Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project
exactly what i am thinking of doing!
i have everything working now, so its just a case of re-routing/extending/shortening wires to tidy it all up
its just the whole dash out (well whats left of it) and start again that i am reluctant to do :(
but i'm still not sure...
surely this is a no brainer if you are getting s/c or itb's? :S
get the work done at the same time (or use the one thats already had work done) to compliment whichever induction route you choose?!
