10-40 is fine though its allowed under Renault specifications down to somehting like -20 degrees so no need to worry.
5-40 is better helps protect the engine from colder but nothing worthwhile.
It will be the sunroof seals its not that difficlt to fix depends what they have to do sounds like they want to try one fix then if it doesn't work try another one.
The dealership has to claim the money back from Renault and Renault won't pay up if a seals broken due to somehting you caused...
Rover 25 etc small car than a 400 etc so cheaper on fuel
Or a Corsa/Nova diesel no t much go realy (although corsa TD can have about 100hp with £10 or parts on them) but there cheap to run parts are common etc.
Not worth it on a 1.2 cost between £250 to £500 depends if you go with an off the shelf or a custom made one gains are minimal bit smoother delivery but on a stock ending even one with a few bits and pieces you won't get much.
The filter just cleans the oil and its ok for 12k realy. OK the oil will be dirsty as the old filter holds some oil but its nothing to realy worry about.
I know of at least one forum member who's balencing etc the car but apart from maybe race engine I don't see why people would build an engine to the extreme or perfect tolerances as there probably much better for what they want.
