Glow plugs wont affect starting on dci's. Sure on older stuff but common rail injection rarely needs them to start. Does the imobiliser light go off? Is there fuel in the primer bulb? Is there fuel in the car?
Basics first.
The sensor has probably just come out of the seatbelt reciever.
Look at it and you will see a wire going into the bottom of it, check its all pushed in.
Ohhh dear. Iv seen so many people f*ck these injectors up because they are soooo delicate. Any sort of handling can affect them. I take it its misfireing?
You can get injectors on there own from renault.
Yes the water pump is behind the cambelt cover and the alternator also has to come off to change it. Make sure they have the correct tools to do the cambelt because it has a floating crank pulley.
Once its all apart, have a look at the water pump, if its all ok leave it.
I would happily do it if your were near me.
If its the alternator belt it doesnt have a tensioner, all you need is to slacken the alternator pivot off and tighten the belt that way.
If its the aircon you have to slacken the centre torx 40 bolt off the tentioner and turn the outer 21 mm hex...
1. Turn off any eletrical items in the car.
2. Slacken the 8mm Bolt on the positive (RED) Terminal. And lift it away from the battery.
3.Slacken the Negative terminal in the same way. And hook it out the way.
4. Then inbetween the battery and the black fuse box there will be a 13mm bolt...
Iv never come across this because as above its a spring loaded tensioner.
Have they fitted a 6 rib or a 5 rib belt?
If there is a gap on one of the pulleys, is it on the inside?
