Yep will fit so long as you have a phase 2. Although a few very earlier phase 2's apparently still used the gearbox sensor you need to check but I've nver seen a Phase 2 which needs the gearbox sensor.
Re: Complaint to Renault - update - Renault have lost me as a future customer
But you don't like the dealership so whats to stop you making a compliant again and asking for another years cover as at the engine od the day thats what your asking for.
It costs Renault as there a chance you...
Thats a poor showing from a dealership the CUp doesn't have a compensaor so there no problem there.
There an MOT note for the CUps saying they on't have the compensator as many MOT places tried to fail them on MOT for not having them.
Re: Complaint to Renault - update - Renault have lost me as a future customer
I'm not sure what you wanted Renault to say. One customer complaiant won't be enought for them to remove there franchise.
Did you want them to give you a the money in case if so what would you deem as acceptable? £1k?
Did you use a proper Renault cabel as other copy parts are usless.
No need to chnage the pedal unless the teeth or the tensions thingie are broken etc.
You have checked the box has some oil they can leak.
JC5 is better but no point chnaging unless you find one with very similar ratios as you might get a hammered JC5.
I had these on my old Illiams and they were rubish the only reason to chnage if for looks I canot recomend anything about the pack even more so for the price.
Yep any JC3 or 5 box will fit. Numbers indicate the ratios in them.
You need to check yyto see if your car has a gearbox sensor ir should do if fo your selection is a bit more limited as later JC£ and 5's don't have a hole for the sensor as they used the ABS for speedo info you need one to...
There was no offical agrrement just an understanding my the big manurfacturers for peoples safty in not making cars go about 155mph also it wouldn't be good publicity if they had continued to let speeds build up and have a lot of high speed crashes/deaths.
You need the garage to use offical Renault parts and stamp the book so long as there VAT rated there no issue.
Its an EEC ruling that Renault/Vauxhall don't need to do it. Just a garage. However iof the garage don't check something which is on the service and it fails ie oil leaking from the...
Might be a daft question but does the 172 gearbox you have come from a phase 1 / CUp as you'll need one unless your speedo input comes from something else as the Mk1's use the gearbox sensor to detect speed the 172 excluding the phase 1 some early phae 2 (very few) and Cups didn't have gearbox...
Front bearings are round I'll get a picture if you need.
Rears are push fitted into the disk. They do wear out though. I think he might be ggetting confused with drum rears though as there tapered.
Proper Renault rear bearing each are £35 each in parts and there the only ones I'd ever use...
Well if your insurer won't cover for decats for whatever reason then thats different. but thats like saying aftermarket alloys are illegal as some insurers don't cover car with them.
182 came in black, silver, two blues also there were the expensive yellow and petrol blue (its green though) colours but the green is very rare.
I'd say the Lupo you hve now is better but its difficult to prove depends what you want the Lupi is a superb car and the KW are superb suspension...
So long as you have an MOT there no issues of the police spot check you and you fail emmisions then you have to get i tixed but there no law saying you cannot be insured with a decat/sports cat.
I'd say its not easy RWD it instead for similicity as the V6 is a big block.
Better off though using a 2.0 William etc engine if you want V6 noise then get a Vauxhall 2.5 V6 engine its much smaller and easier to fit.
Rebuilt 2.0 bottom end head work cams and you'll be about 185hp or so...
Fuel pump relay there having a laught there more common things that that.
I'd check Temperature sensor firstly then spark plugs them coils then TDC sensor. ALso see what the throttle bodies like although its unlikly to be the issue.
Mk1 have the rear torson bar which can be a pian with rust etc.
Its the rust and problem with the torsio bar which makes it difficult to price.
I'd give it a go yourself if you have access to a garage and some decient tools.
