Its done - just got handy with the jigsaw, file, club hammer and angle grinder - 2 hours work and its finished, no scrub at all and youd never know Ive taken an extra cm out of the wings above the wheels.
So that one in fast car was at standard ride height? Does that make mine the only Clio...
I wouldnt go as far as to say a road spoiler wont do anything Ben...ok the majority of aftermarket spoilers are for show and simply cause drag, but there are certain designs which would work to cause downforce - especially seeing as there are at least two methods that I know of that are...
Looks like Im gonna have to work on my front arches to get these 18s to turn full lock. Ive got two plans in mind.
Plan A: trim the bit underneath the lip of the arch out to a knife-edge and then flare them out as well so they dont catch.
Plan B: cut the arches higher into the side of the...
youll probably find that you have to take whatevers closest to 36 in a 4x100 pcd. bear in mind that youre talking about a difference of only *1 mm* either inwards (37mm) or outwards (35mm) from standard. so basically it doesnt make sod all difference.
My 215/35/18 are on a 38mm offset and it...
Peugeots have the aerial you want, black and short. The screw thread is the same as Renault, get one from a scrappy.
If youre spraying the wheels and theyre 14s go for the motorsport look, white will look good.
Sorry the rear mud flaps are gone, only the front Sparco ones left now.
I will get a pic of the 18s out soon, the only way to put it is that they look
***THE NUTS***
Theyre fine as long as you go in a straight line. Turning is a bit problematic at the moment but I just need to chop the...
Yeah Mintex are good, Ive got them on the rear. Ferodo DS2000 on the front which are IMHO even better than Mintex, but pricey and chuck out huge clouds of brake dust.
Mine is dropped 35mm with Koni adjustables on the original 15s and it handles like a dream, so for the doubting Thomas who doesnt list a CLio as one of his cars; dont assume that lowering will ruin the handling - it sorts it out so its even better than when it left the factory.
With a 50mm...
Mud flaps are the nuts. You want my second hand ones? I just had to take them off to get my 18s on. They are wicked and chunky looking not like the flimsy things you see nowadays from Renault. Theyre proper Renault ones, just vintage. Thats at the rear, at the front Ive got some blue Sparco...
Clio offset is 36mm.
On a CLio which is not a 16v or Willy, you will get 15s straight on, even with a bit of lowering. 16s will be more of a struggle cos then you end up running at least a 195 tyre which means arch scrub.
Well it depends on what you mean by a full system. To my mind a full system means everything from the cylinder head backwards. But no-one does full systems like that really. The usual is a cat back system, therefore you retain the manifold, downpipe and cat, if you want to get rid of the cat you...
Well just to finish this debate off, I just ordered my 7x17 Wolfrace Octanes in Hyper Black...plus a 285mm big disc conversion, which is the reason why I needed bigger wheels in the first place. Once Ive worn out those I might go for the 305mm conversion...
So to add another angle to this...
A voltmeter measures voltage or potential difference and an ammeter measures current, their names come from the units that they measure in, V and A.
So basically a voltmeter is very useful because it can be put in many places around the car but will register *all* the different power drains...
No clutch replacement is gonna be easy, on a 16v its a nightmare job, which is either engine out or moving the subframe to get to it.
On an RT I suspect it might be a bit easier, not so much engine to get in the way if you see what I mean...but still not exactly a DIY job. Get a quote from...
Yeah I heard of that device and theoretically it makes sense. On a track car thats trailered to every event.
You wont see a huge improvement so IMHO not really worth doing. Anyone actually done it?
Yeah I think its pretty straightforward. The wheel bearings at the rear are the only problem. Actually I think if you get Renault rear discs they come with the bearing already fitted. Or maybe theyre the ABS discs.
My system runs 60bhp jets and an 11lb bottle and I doubt very much it would fire for 12 minutes continuously. The last couple of pounds of nitrous arent much good as it starts to turn to vapour rather than liquid. It would last you a week or two with a few 5 or 10 second hits every day.
Ive put in two gauges in an A-pillar pod; nitrous pressure and air/fuel ratio. Oh and fuel pressure but thats under the bonnet running off the pressure regulator.
But the two interior gauges are both carbon fibre Autometer gauges; cos theyre american import jobbies I get them mail order, off...
Magnecor KV85 with Bosch Super 4.
At the end of the day plugs and leads are a bit of a hard one to recommend cos even the best plugs and leads in the world can do no more than just...work! But I use the KV85 and Super 4 but all I can say is that running nitrous pressure and under heavy track...
