Outside temperature wouldn't bother me so long as your cars well maintained maybe chnage the pads but then again if your drivce hard stock pads can go weak anway.
I took my Williams to the ring when it was roasting hot only thing I had to do was to have th heater on a bit as the stock system...
The difference in them is tiny you get good cups and good phase 1 172's
The phase 1 172engine are usually better as they don't use the turbo head so usually make more power but the Cups don't have aircon so there some poiwer gained there and they were slightly more.
I'd go for a phase 1...
PF97 don't last that long and at there price well I worked out that assuming you did something like 30k on 4 pots (and drive hard) there'd be the same sort of price as pads are cheaper and last longer.
Also equivalent 4 pots pads don't hammer the wheels and paint as much as they don't need to...
Yep it cna be done Matt Balck on here sells the parts there a lot of bits you need to swop all the electrics behind the dash the engine gearbox suspension etc Its £1.5k+vat which is good value but you cna pick up 172's cheap now and you could just stick a second hand 1.6 in yours and sell it on.
The AUX belt used to be chnaged at 72k but after a which Renault realised it was a mistake AUX belts had failed at 50k and Renault had to pay for them. So they chnaged the service interval for the AUX belt to 36k
Servicing of the engine has no effect on the injectors unlike the VAG engines do.
Definatly chnage the oil evert 9k though makes a difference.
I try to always use BP or whatever super stuff is for sale and don't go to Tesco etc (I know its the same fuel but thats just me). Forget aditives...
Ooops sorry forgot it is a 1.4 yep your right the 1.4 use the JC1 box which isn't that good for the 1.2s.
Oil seals arn't a sign of the gearbox strenght though.
I've used them in the past first time I got the tyres about 2 days later the last time took almost a week.
They were the cheapest around though.
Why not go to 15's though you can pick up much cheaper tyres than that?
You'd know a shaft has been realy broken to fail. They just rattle if theres no grease in them.
Its worth checking your gaiter on the shafts ie the bits of rubber as if they get holes in them the grease runs out and the shaft knocks.
If this has happened then you need to either get a new...
You'd need to realy mess it up. I'd make recomendatons but if they don't work and you have a good box (by chance) then you'd just end up with Renault not doing it and have a worn out box.
Anyway a new/second hand box isn't much anway fitments not to bad. Plus you've got the JC3 box which is...
Be careful with pressure washes on Clio the UCH which is under the passenger pashboard if it gets wet usually has to be replaced which is £350 for the part alone and you need Renault to program it.
Sounds like the clucth pedal ratcher is broke onlt £13 for a new one bit of a pain to replace. have a look at the deal you'll need to either sit upside down on the seat or fully open the door and get a torch to see whats going on . The teeth on the tensioner can wear out which causes this.
Sounds like you've knocked the oil sensor about to much. You need to get Renault to tell you which one is causing the fault realy to know which to replace.
Or just leave it and accept the light will come on every now and again.
My parents have the same bin at home.
The Now magazine isn't yours is it?
Anyway your other mounts will wear out quicker now unfortunatly.
Still its worth it for the reduction in movement.
7.2k should be the stock limit but theres a 50rpm tolerance in it.
if it goes to 8k and the rev counter not broken then its chipped.
Be warned though Renault sport racing say running at 8k on a stock bottom end will kill you engine.
The1.2 and the 172 share the shame shell a 140k sheell will be a bit weeker but nothing huge by any means it won't be much more than a new weak shell.
You have to replace all the bits to do a 172 conversion anyway.
Its not a full list as it only covers the 172/182 and the Mk1 6 (not checked if the Mk2 is the same it will be I'm sure) and the Williams.
It lists
Gearbox oil volume and grade
Brake fluid volume and grade
Fuel tank capacity
Power assisted stearing volume and grade
Coolent type and grade...
Your right the 65 doesn't have an intercooler.
The turbo issue he is on about isn't anything to do with this what happens is the oil feed pipe gets disconnected and the oil gets into the turbo spooling it up and sending it into the engine the engie revs like mad since it has all the oil to...
