They do the more milage the Renault engine have the quicker they are though.
Later engine have VVT but it makes no different a bit more low end if anything but its only tiny.
It depends how you do about doing this legally the best way is to buy the kit from a phase 1 swop it into your carn then go to the DVLA and sya the old car which your engine etc was from was written off and reshelled so they will register it as a phase 1 172. Then ring for insurance saying your...
Mk2 phase 1.
Or if you fancy a realy good car.
Mk2 phase 2 shell. phase 1 outside if you want that
Use a Cup engine and box and get it registered as a Cup (don't need ABS then) then engine out and stick the phase 1 engine in as its better better still have it rebuilt.
Suspension, go for...
I think jons saying a big swop of bits, swop the ECU then wire the phase 1 ECU up and fiddle the wiring etc
Another idea would be to remove the UCH and swop all the wiring for a phase 1 wiring and ECU you'll loss the crusie and a few other bits but the phase 1 is much easier to fix. there no...
Ooops good point I forget there an extra bend in the circuit. No idea how I forget about that I've come off the track there a few times now..
2.20 though whats up were you have a tea break the dci does it in 2.30.
I have to say I thought it used to do 2.10 after some lads came upto me that day and said they'd timed it doing that but watching the video the car goes past the last of the red curbing on the left hand side of the track at 0.07 and its back there by 2.08 or so.
They squeek anyway.
If you want it doens't take long to check them take the wheel off two bolts hold the caliper on 15 nut and a 17mm spanner are needed to get them off from memory.
As for rear drums there a pain to change take the wheel off them undo the 30mm nut which is under the metal cap...
Ring H and R I'm sure you can buy seperate shocks but you're supposed to change both at once so both back ones in your case.
Theres loads of companaies who cna rebuild shocks though.
They show a light on the dash when the pads are worn down but theyre not needed, you know when they need replacing as they squeek.
Seems somone ages ago musn't have connected them up.
Thats expensive there one with 109k in the for sale area for £2.7k.
I'd pay about £3k at best assuming it in good condition tax MOT and bits have been replaced.
Milage wouldn't worry me assuming the gearbox etc are all in good condition and its not been hammered.
With that sort of...
They are supposed to be dead center the camber of the road should pull you to the left so that if you went to sleep the car would naturally drive off onto the cuub rarther than the other side of the road but if you were on the continetn iot would pull to the other side due to there camber of the...
Theres apparently a coversion pack that Renault sell so you can do this cheaply but I've never found the part numbers so I think its just a false rumour. Nick Hill was looking at it might be worth giving him a ring.
The other ottion is a stand alone ECU. with a Mk1 throttle body etc.
Clutch is a pain, most garages won't touch one is 8 hours or so to do and there loads of little tricks to do it quicker than Renault say but its still not easy.
Ring round the clutch specialists theyre looking at about £300+ vat including them supplying the clutch so maybe £50 off if you...
I think the official work is no its not a luanch colour but maybe if the market sales are bad they'l add things like this.
The trophy was going to be white so they do think abouyt it they bottled it though in the end.
This site is right, 150k for the fuel filter.
Spark plugs just stock OE ones or the similar from Halfords. Oil filter use Renault ones as I've found some aftermarkets stuff to be wrongly sold.
Get some decient oil as well and check all thr parts which are listed on the service don't ignore...
The Rs wasn't designed for race tracks otherwise it would have been made a lot stiffer with differetn suspension its a fast road car to some degree with all the bits people expect in a posh car ie leather climate etc.
Becuas its to stiff for the market demands. Otherwise they'd sell it with a full roll cage and 500lb spring undrivable on anything but a race track but stiff as anything.
Don't forget at 11 years old the cars dampers and springs will be worn out along with all the rubber bushes to a high...
I'm sure Evo Gone has a set on his Cup if they are then there very good for fast road use, track use there abit soft realy and the adjustable damping useless makes the car feel wrong if you wack the damping up.
Rear strut braces do nothing on Clo due to the suspension setup.
personally I wouldn't bother with a strt brace unless you've upgraded the rest of the suspension and replaced the busshes or new ones with a car of this age.
