    Clio 172 Mileage

    Milage would never put me off if the price is right that sort of milage is nothing remember the 72k service is when the belts are chnaged so its expensive though. The 172 engine realy get quicker with regualr servicing and milage particualy if its hard driven milage. Common Clio problems...

    Brake bleeding (again)

    Doesn't realy matter so long as when you let the fuid out of the caliper you let it run for a bit to ensure theres no air in it.

    Go to the garage in Whitchurch by the station £30 they charge or so I'll be going back there again when I get my suspension fixed. There very good.

    There a direct fit don't think you need spacers at all to stop them catching I forget there offsets.

    Nope thats how Renault attach them anway. The only issue you may have if you start getting serious rust but treat it and properly when you drill the holes and you'll be fine.

    Thats because at that age all 1.6's were the dynamic plus spec with an alarm electric sunroof and air con and CD player as standard.

    They never came with a CD player that age as standard tape player was the normal fit it was a £100 option a cd player that most people took up.

    The Billbongs were just dynamics with a CD player as standard (earlier dynamics had it as an option which almost everyone too up plus it had some different coloured setas and some stickers etc but it was the same price as a dynamic with a CD player. As for making it quicker chnage the oil...

    Renault won't pay for any warently work unless there either realy bad (forget it so long as they exist there fine in there mind) or they are leaking.

    Conversion

    The Cup use a mechanica speedo from the gearbox just like upto the 2001 July spec (I think thats the date) 172 use. The later 172 and 182 use the ABS system to get there speedo readings from.

    172 engine Matt blacks sell the bits £1.5k+vat includes gearbox electrics etc. I'd try get a Mk2 phase 1 engine personally as I prefere the better throttle response. Matt I think gets more Cups in though.

    On the rev limiter or not at top speed?

    I need a longer gearbox. My box hits 4k at 100 but there more in the engine It goes to an indicated 122 or so. Longer box and I recon 130 with some help.

    Your cars almost a 172 looks wise anway the only reason to get one is for the power. I'd get one but keep yours.

    steering rack......

    They are different Williams and Valver racks. There enoung spare threads so that you don't need a Williams rack to have Williams wide track.

    Mk1 172. I'd pefere one over a 182 especially if there no warently.

    Suspension kit and lowering?

    You cna fit them yourself not difficult. Shocks were anyway mine are gone with stock springs lowering springs will mean the shocks were faster. How long they last depends on so many things.

    Haynes Manual????

    The Renault sport models arn't of a serious enought production run to make a Haynes manul for them. The normal book covered 99% of what you need PM me your addressa nd i'lll send you a file when I get home on the 23th showig the extra bits of the car which are different etc.
