Nope same engines 5k redline with a tolerance of plus or minus 50rpm.
I drive my car to the limit a lot 50mph in second gear on the clock is no problem. Its just power drops off over 4.5k.
Ha ha I'll get you somehow I'll bring my Clio next time and beat you.
I'd done about 6 track days on the oil that was in and worn though more than one set of new tyres so the oil was truly cooked.
The oil that was in had only been in for a week and done Bedford the day before so that was...
Fine thanks.
Renault are talking blurb agaian they have to prove any changes you do is responsible for the failure. If you use standard oil and filters they cannot even prove that the cars different I've chnaged my oil a few times and there no impact.
Get the turini alloys they look much...
I'm interested if anyone knows how much extra power you'd need to get a few more mph?
I went round Bedford race track a few week ago and the oil was cooked but at the end of the stright I was doing 95mph last weekend though i was doing 98mph now my speeds out of the bends were no quicker...
Redline is at 5k plus or minus 50rpm.
Power drops off after 4.5k for definate I need a good RR test to see what happens up there but 4k is supposidly mx power but change up point is about 4.5k in 1st gear.
I've hit 115 on the clock on a stright road (I've honestly been to Germany) with 2...

Prices are ex vat and are a bit old now 172 Cups are not £125 or so.
Fly wheel is what the manurfactures use for engine hp calims.
For example a 172 is 166UK hp but makes 140 at the wheels (this is the most important bit as it doesn't matter if you make 500hp if the box etc eats up 300hp you've only got 200hp to realy use at the wheels.
Any spring can fail yep the front ail quite a bit though as there a batch out there which had impurities in and so cracked and failed. Not just Renault have been affect the same factory made Mercedes springs and the're failing now.
The'll always be chnage I thinkl the Golf GTi is a good example of what will happen the golf got big and fat the lupo gti then became that the old GTi was and the new Golf got to be a big car but still with famous handling charecteristsic but a bit bigger.
Sort of yep just see what its like before and put it back to how it was tightness wise.
Mine been overly loosened and the back brakes do nothing of any significance now (track work barly get rid of the rust on the disks). Howver its better than being overly done.
Yep but Matt only drives 1/4 mile at a time.
Looks good any more details on spec?
I take it the engine hasn't been bedded in on a dyno test rig like the 1.2 Cup one was?
Was always hoping there'd be proof of how accurate RR were if you did this.
Your going to have so get some seriouslt...
You need to ajdust the brake bias if you lower the car and it doens't have ABS.
Look under the back of the car on the rear axle you'll see a sensor linking to the brakes what happens is when the back of the car is lower with sotkc suspension the rears don't work much however when you've a...
A Williams turned up to one a while back and one turned up to the Chester thing but it wasn't owned by the original fforum member so wasn't parked near up all.
When i get mine back I'll have t bring it and show these soft 172/182/CTR owners what a proper car is noone of this multiplay...
It will be done for FCS.
Which FCS is the issue.
Any idea on engine weight Fred?
What cooling setup are you using? Megan would be a bit big size wise and 172 is a bit to small isn't it?
There is no upper one.
Dead easy to change them so long as there no rust otherwsie it can be a paoin easy way to change it is to jack the car up, undo the bolt which goes through the hub and then undo the two bolts which hold it to the suspension arm.
You did a good job killing that one.
How difficult is to to wire a phase 2 with its UCh etc into a phase 1 body or do you just plug in all the lights etc and every other electrical bit?
Depends what you do with it but stock Ferrdo pads front and rear and stock disk is the best if you want some more stopping power (or less fade on track etc) then Ds2500 if you want some more feeling then add on top some braided lines.
