Standard disks are good and I'd go with standard pads of just Halfords standard ones. I've yet to have any trouble with there pads. I wouldn't recomend any harder pads for winter as you don't want them to be difficult from cold.
If you want get some 4 pot brakes up front but its overkill for a...
Its an 8mm one.
You can bodge some screwdrivers to fit if its not been put in with some force you'll have some trouble getting it out as you realy need to give it some force.
However the only problem is power range the range is quite weak in a diesel where the diesel runs out the petrol is usually just getting started.
- Lack of RPM isn't a problem you just have to drive accordinly stick a CTR driver in a 172 and they'll have a problem trying to drive like...
The speedo sensor gets its readings from the front left ABS sensor. I don't know what you want to do and although I've got the drawing I cannot send them out.
The gearbox doesn't even have any speedo etc outputs.
The milage is stored on the dasboard clocks.
If you give us a better idea what...
Have a look on your brake pedal there a swicth above where its hinged which operatr the rear lights you can just screw and unscrew it to adjust when the brake light come on. Very easy to do.
The 1.4 and 1.6 are very similar engine the difference is the 1.6 has a taller block and a different crank and thats about all however the cost of just chnaging the blcok and crank are so much than a whole new 172 transplant would be about the same price.
If you go stick the RS Megan maps on the ECU if they even made the engine start (I don't think so) then you would get less power since the whole mapping is completly different. Also the Megan has turbo boost so the engine won't make 225hp as the engine won't up the fueling as it won't see the...
I've got some pics when it had coilovers in the galery I think plus some at the ring I think. Its back to standard now though.
I was just writing you a PM. I'd recomend changing the oil in your car I drive my car hard on track days etc and you can tell the difference in new oil. It only takes...
Diesel hot hatches are doing well there are some reasonale ones out there however the advantages are sometimes quite limited eg servicing a diesel has always been good you don't need to chnage the oil as often the new ibiza tdi's are the same 12k servicing as there petrols and there the same...
The F7R has bigger piston and a higher block as it runs the 1.9 diesel crank for a bit more throw.
For the cost of boring out the engine you can but a 20 Megan bottom end or WIlliams bottom end.
I'd see how much money you have and see what examples are availiable.
Personally I'd get the Williams as there that bit more powerful rarer and better handling but its all subjective a good valver will be better than a worn Williams.
Best get a Haynes manult to help.
If your going to bleed brakes go get an easy bleed one perosn kit from Halfords there £15 or so and well worth it stick that on as the instuctions say then open the calipers in the correct order let the fluid come out there probably aload of air so you might...
Probably a wet sensor but it could be anything. It might be the oil sensor on a hill thinking there no oil as its sumped forward so check your oil level.
Yep ask BenR for the techie reasons for having them but its supposed to give more feedback and increased track makes for more potentail round the bends.
However if you go to far you can go through brearings quickly as you put to much load on the wheel.
Bleed the brakes and change the fluid completly for some decient stuff.
3: My friggin' Zenon Washer (drivers side) has developed a leak or something, so it's pissing all my washer fluid out onto the floor. It's not the jet itself, it's behind the bumper so I assume is where the pipe connects...
My car had the sotck 15's on it and with spax coilovers lowered a supposed 60 all round (more like 45 front and 60 back) it never caught on any speed bump and I hit them at a fair speed a few times when I forgot the car was low.
New pads are £15 or 17 from Halford not the same counpound as Renault ones but they've been fine on my car no fade and I do track days etc on them. The brakes are the same as the 1.8 16V an 2.0 Williams and 5GTT use.
You cna fit them yourself its very easy.
The final answer about the best handling Clio is in Evo issue 66 page 99 . They only picked the best for that test.
Saying that I'd like a new trophy over a new Williams.
250NM or 185lbf for the Nyloc type nut
280NM or 207lbf for the self locking nut with integral washer.
You should renew the nut ever time not stick it back on. However I'm supid and cheap and have just made do with some locking compound on the nut and there no trouble with it. When i had the...
The 182 pads are slightly different than 172 ones there smaller at the edge so maybe this has an effect. Only when 182 pads are about 1/3 used are they upto there full size. I'd guess they lose about 10~15% there surface area when new due to the chamfer they have.
DS 2500 and new fluid is a...
It won't make any difference Suburus and other turbo cars it does matter as they have boost and high CR's etc but the 172 engine isn't that higly tunned or running high engine compression ratios.
Some people do say it make a MPG difference or it better running and more powerful at low RPM though.
It has been done beofre wasn't a perfect setup 210hp I think stock internals and an intercooler I think TUC approved and all but £6k I think unfitted.
Supercharger has the advantages of no waiting for boost plus it can be easier sometimes as you don't need a new exhaust manifold. Neither...
Sounds a good price.
You could have bought an extended Renault warently you know to ocver you for this mine cost me £600 for a dci for another 2 yrs and an extension till 90k. Its not cheap but it covers all that stuff.
Sounds a good price though if that fixes it.
My 52 plate dci on 52k and...
Thats a bargin price I'd buy it for that price. There quite expensive so even if you have to have it serviced and new shafts you can sell your old ones and box to offset the price.
