Speedos can be out significantly at high speed.
Bets use the rev counter sine 100rpm is about 20mpg if I remember in top then youd need to be doing 7k which is impossible as far as I remember.
120mph is probably closer to the mark.
Going down a hill can add 10% extra speed on.
No car is error free my parents have had a Merc a and E class (both from almsot new) and there were both problems.
Get the dci instead you know you want to imagine how mcuh £ youll save.
Easy to find out what hp it is if it has the dci lets in silver its a 65hp one if it has a red i then...
Transplanting them not easy you need
The light unit + bulbs
The height ajuster.
The rear axle height sensor
Washer bottle thingie as water needs to be supplied to the jet.
The jets themselves.
The find some way of adding them to the UCH unless you wire them from the battery.
Then...
Get it back to Renault and tell them o fix it.
If the rpm was between 650 and 850 Id deem acceptable and a slighlt uneven idle due to the emmisions mapping.
It might be loads of things the 1.2 has a folder of problem.
Try the spark plugs first these seem to wear out quick but Renault know...
The rpm at idle can change it depends on a few factors ie battery power being low increases it a bit ccol running etc.
The RPM should be between 700 and 800rpm when warm with no aircon tell your dealership to get it checked out the ecu should compensate by using its torque sequence calcualtion...
Its so complex they change spec mid year plus you can have different springs on the same car made for different areas noone realy knows which springs fit your car unless they look at the colour on them and have the chassic number which tells you the exact part code.
Best idea if to get a 172 for all the uprated bits you get personally.
The difference might not be as much as you think.
I looked and for me to swop to an equal ages 172 etc its about £2~2.5k which is excellent value in my view.
Insurance might be a lot but you have to put it into context...
Err this is one big can of worms to figure out.
All Clios seem to ahve different suspension not only dci vs 1.2 but dynamic vs any other spec.
The new 1.6 16V is supposed to have sports suspension but what they means to Renault is anyones guess. The old Dynamics were supposed to have sports...
The 100 has better (read better piston for the heat) plus diffferent bearings plus uprated oil coler and oil jets. To make more hp though its just an uping of the boost (new turbo) for 1.25bar (overbust to 1.4 bar I think) boost plus bigger intercooler (I think) plus bigger injectors and pump...
Keep the Rx4 personally.
A 172 is never fast enough people always want more whatever they have so why go chase the hp spend the money on the 1.4 making it what you want rather than spending all the cash on a 172 which youll not be able to afford to mod as much.
Plus it should be less
Is the stop light on as well?
Its the toxic warning light if its on all the time get to a dealership might be the cat getting damaged or just a faulty sensor.
Do a check on the dash for the error code.
If I win the lottery Id got a killer dci spec Im going to build.
Dont think they would make it 150 as they know with chips they sell (and are warentied abroad) would take it to more power than the petrol versions which wouldnt be allowed.
No one has ever been on the forum and offered to prove the mods.
There was a member with it but after we questioned the gains and asked about them going to the next local Cliosport RR day they disappeared.
Its not just there LAD200 car which have generated a bit of bad publicity there Saxo...
Peoples MPG on the dci seems to vary quite a bit. I get 55~60 and Im not easy so you could add 5~10 ontop of that if you drove more carefully.
Black Kro gets 75 out of his 80dci but he has bigger tyres which help keep the revs down.
Id sell it as well.
£9k is a very good price in my view probably less that you paid to build it but modifying isnt profitable so getting that much is excellent.
Id go for the VRS as well.
Ive got some uprated H7 in my dynamique
I have to say there are brighter but its only realy noticable close up in my view.
But they last longer than the stock one so worth the extra in my opinion.
Its as standard Clio Cup a tunning company called LAD tunned and sold though the normal dealerships.
Best do a search for LAD though on the forum they got themselves a bit of a repuation for claiming more HP than they realy get.
