    Yep from a quick google search it sounds like it. It messes up the signals (its remapped) to ensure the engine get enough fuel etc. It infact increases reliability as it will remove the problem of lean running which you have induced by mods etc.

    You dont need to remap Id just personally do it along with other mods. With an induction kit there more air for the engine and assuming you dont have extra fuel then the engine burns lean. Running lean with just an airfilter+exhaust isnt bad enough to warent a remap though Im just over the top...

No massive problem but personally Id do more mods and get a SMT6 or similar remap to increase fueling to ensure your engine not runnng lean (big problems if you do).     I think the rsi and 16V are different the RSi is a 1.8 8V wheras the 16V is a 1.8 16V. Just ring them up theres a good reason why they cannot quote you online. I wont try tellig them that the cars are the same as you might be wrong. Insurance prices arnt just based on insurance groups...
