Is that the only running problem?
Best get it back to Renault thee 1.2 engine has a list of possible problem but new plugs (underwarently) or an ECU reload should fix it.
The 4k rattle can be fixed as well by getting an aftermarket exhaust or getting Renault to fin it under warently (it might have already been fixed if its 2 to 3 yrs old)
There not down on power yo have to remember that the 172 doesnt make 172 HP as we know in the UK it makes 166.6hp the difference is down to the French using a different type of hp its like saying you have $10 but since an USA dollar is different than a Australian dollar you have to say what...
Dont worry the forum is full of negative posts as people only post problems with there cars you dont need help with car without problems.
Anyway there no perfect manurfactures VAG are having there problems and the recient surveys show Merc and other Germany cars are very down on build quality...
Well they rattle a lot Clios but put it this way loads of people have bought another so there is something good about them.
Biggest problem can be covered under warently.
The 4k rattle ie the exhaust rattles at 4k RPM is the biggest problem usually which is cureable.
Yep Ive got the dialogues CDs Renault use.
Only way to find out I think would be to strip a caliper down I think.
AP might make the part and sell it to Renault and Renault use it to make the calipers up so AP dont achually know what cars there used in.
The warently is only invalid if they can prove the mod is responsible for the failure/claim.
I wouldnt worry unless you intent to go sticking 100hp of N20 into the engine without doing anyhting else.
Ye all that it will means is your 6k ahead if you decide to do it so your next 54k service is at 48k.
If you dont have the spare cash might as well stick it in for the MOT is very likely to pass without the service and have your servicing done at the right sort of time. Even if it fails the...
I keep forgetting the amount of Clios produced till you see the production lines and numbers they make ever day or hour.
There realy all going enviromental arnt they.Thell have the panels made out of some sort of compressed grass at this rate.
If it was an offical car then it may have been a hybrid as they havnt completly defined the spec and just made a car from the bits they had.
The 182 CUus the journalists drive havnt got the same stripes as the production cars.
Nope you can have the servicing done any time you want I had my 18k done at 17k and the next 36k one will be done about 35k.
Theres no problem with early servicing but I think your supposed to add on so I my 36k service should be done at 35k as that would be 18k between servicing. This wouldnt...
Nearly naked supermodels servicing the cars/ walking around and a a good viewing galary to watch from.
Or something decent to do whilst waiting for service work etc I some decient mags or go carting etc.
Ive emailed you some other suggestions though.
Nope forget it as CocoPops said just the consel to adjust the aircon is £200 or something youd need to get a write of car to do it at any reasonable cost and even then it is likely to be better value to swop to a car with aircon.
Air filter
Spark plugs
Oil and filter chnage
Passenger compartmen filter if its fitted)
Assuming its 2 yrs then the Romote central locking batteries
Check brakes, power stearing, exhaust circuits and seals, check fluid levels (all), check bearings play/condition or rubber gaiters...
Ive not going to advertise them all (theres not a huge list and there not dangerous problems)
Biggest thing is its sensitivity the sensors in the car on the pillars are very picky, opening the air vents with them angled the wrong way and it will set the alrm off (the sensativity can be turned...
Id get it serviced before the MOT. Clean air filter and new plugs etc will help keep emmisions down so if you are near the limit youll be ok.
It is very likely to pass the MOT without a service but better to be safe. Having its MOT before or after service will have no effect on validity the...
They do a bit of work at 36k nothing massive but they do some stuff.
As long as you get the work done with official parts then Renault will cover your warently, unless the garage who did the work were responsible for the misfitted parts that is.
Id shop around should be able to get it done...
You wont belive the amount of time I checked that over, you should have seen it first time I wote it.
English isnt my strong point (Ive yet to find anything I am good at)
Im with Ben on this the auto box is just as weak the difference is people have trouble hammering the auto as much as the manuals with poor shifts clutch drops incorrect rpm speed matching on the downshift etc.
Im glad this thread was reopened hoping that it would make for some intelligent...
Clio every time, but personally Id get a newsish 172 for £8k or so and spend a few hundred on coilovers etc and engine mods if you want and there you have it a 182 for less and depreciation will be less than a new 182 will be.
Depcrediation is a killer a 182 in 3 yrs will be worth what £7k...
Never heard of the belt going before if your worried change it earlier.
Anyway an 172 engine can be bough for £500 often so not a huge worry.
The AUX belt take power from the crank and powers the aircon alternator power stearing and coolent.
Theres a cover over the engine timing belt...
Anyone can do it you dont even have to do it at all.
However if Renault dont do it (they charge between £100 and £160 usually to do it)
Any garage can do it and assuming they use official parts then the warently is still valid. Its only cancelled on bits which they can prove the claim isnt...
Its likely just be the cams etc of the 16V engine.
Theres no such thing as a stupid question if you dont know the answer. The stupis person is the one who pretents to know.
