Cut mine off with a grinder the other week.
Positive - there is now not a hole to the outside as it is currently has the threaded from this bolt in like with the other seat mounting bolts.
Negative - I can't get the thread out without welding a nut to it. Will I get around to welding a nut to...
That will be worth saving, maybe not now but in the medium to long term certainly. Especially if a full job of stripping it right back and doing the underside.
Every since fitting my ITBs I’ve never been 100% happy with the fuel hoses. They work and do the job but I’m sure there is a better way.
I’ve got the KTec billet fuel rail and running an external fuel pressure regulator. But it’s where I have connected the new parts to the original hoses that I...
Need to wash the E34 and not washed a car that has been ceramic coated before. I messaged GTechniqs as it has the CSL and Evo v5 coating about what they reccomend to wash and maintain. They said to:
Tar remover and rinse
All purpose cleaner and rinse
Snow foam and rinse
Shampoo and rinse
Dry...
Back seats removed and a little clean up in there.
The middle bolt holding the seat backs down put up a fight and had to go to my brothers to grind it off. Will weld a nut to it to remove the threaded part at a later date.
Seats and belts will be for sale shortly, just need to write an...
Was this a KTec kit? As from what I am aware they do a connector that goes between the TPS and the loom.
Also what ECU are you running as I had issues with my TPS but that was mainly because it was a Ph1 and their loom is different to a Ph2. I’ve got some details kicking about somewhere about...
Tbh it’s done 8k miles in the 3 years I’ve had it, most of which have been summer and dry days. I had noticed some rust around the arch lip but not bubbling around it like you can get. I did look down the inner sills when I bought it and it was good and chucked a load of Kurust down then for...
MoT test passed yay 🎉
Oh balls, it’s started 😭
For sale: one kidney
Tbh it was the next job on the list to do really. I’ll probably sell the standard seats (front need a re-trim) to help cover the costs as keeping it OEM went out the window many many months ago, probably when I fitted bucket...
Ok so I think this is broken.....just filled it up, first time after fitting thr ITBs and it has returned 35.63mpg 😲 I will admit this was mainly due to a trip from home to Manchester and back sat on the M5/M6 when I went to the other office for work last month. But still it has done 319 miles...
I made 199bhp on my Ph1 172 with the KTec ITB kit. That was standard internals but Megane 225 injectors and a 4 bar fuel pressure regulator.
Catcams will be happening at the next cam belt change. Told to go for Catcam 423 if I can put up with a lumpy idle.
How are the batteries holding out in everyone’s watches?
I’ve got an SE I bought in 2020 and these past few days the battery has been awful. I don’t wear it at work but leave it in a locker next to my phone. Left for work and it was on 78% and 7hrs later it’s on 48% and that is doing nothing...
Fitted the fan over ride switched. Went full race car and removed the stereo and speakers.
Really do need to sort the centre trim out too but it’s a dash out job and I really cba until I need to remove it!
Fan issue resolved. With the help of my brother we fitted a Revotec fan controller and over ride switch. The bung in the side of the radiator was the same size as one of the fitting options so that was the best solution (the one from PMS was a self seal thing after inserting it through a pipe...
I was at the Morgan factory the other week and they had all their cars on show. They are some serious bits of kit these three wheelers. Look really well made too.
I've used Gyeon Q2 Quartz stuff. I have been impressed with it. Only went for that one as it boasted like a heat rating of like 800deg and wanted something for track wheels. Brake dust doesn't bake in and easily rinses off with little effort.
I am looking at ceramic coating my cars but before I go out and buy the stuff I have been eying up a curveball has been thrown in the mix.
Plan was to do the E34, the 60 and maybe the Clio if there is any left over.
I have used AMDetails Hybric Ceramic Wax at the moment and have used it for a...
Possibly, I can’t be certain though. But not sure if it is because it’s a Ph1 and slightly different set up than the Ph2 so I just have to deal with it. I’ve bought an external fan controller to go in the radiator bung with an over ride switch so this should sort the fan out. Just not sure why...
Yay!
Was doing some diagnosis on if my radiator fan worked. Unplugged the coolant sensor expecting the fan to kick in and it didn’t. So took it for a spin to get it up to temp. While I was waiting for a shop to open I had it running was getting to the temp the fan should kick in and I noticed...
it probably does but I don't have a laptop that will connect to it which was half the problem with getting the ITBs up and running. I wasn't going to buy a second laptop just for this purpose.
Will try and get some data logging out of it but I don't have any gizmos for this.
If I can prove the fan kicks in when hot then I would be more happy with it, like then I know it is working. From memory before the new rad and that was installed it used to kick in about point 2 on my picture...
I am running a lower temp thermostat and it was running at just below half way normally (1).
I was sat in stationary traffic the other day for about 20mins after a 40min drive and it crept up to about 3/4 on the gauge (2) and then dropped down to half way (3) then slowly crept up to near max (4)...
found the coolant sensor, side of the thermostat 🤦♂️
But my idea of just wiring a switch in parallel goes out the window as there are three wires going to it....or to put it correctly I hate wiring and can't work it out!
The only other thing I can think of is run a proper over ride and take a...
Want to run a radiator fan bypass so I can switch the fan on manually, mainly for using it after a track session and the fact that it got silly hot the other day when sat in traffic (I am positive I saw the temp rise then come back down then creep back up, so the fan must have kicked in??)
I...
I’ve used Meguires Headlight Protectant in the past after refurbing mine and it works really well

Classic Range Rovers are the top of my eBay search list at the moment, struggling to make my mind up if I want to do it and swap my E34 for one (I know I would regret it immediately though).
I have been using the Clio to get to work a few times these past few weeks, get some miles under it to make sure I am happy before I start using it a bit harder and that.
The throttle linkage spring came from KTec and it is now night and day. Throttle response is spot on. I haven't even moved...
