It could be my inability to change gear. But I was struggling at times to get a gear. But the 5th to 2nd was definatley my fault, I just lent on the gear stick too much going into 4th.
I have not touched the gear linkage/bushes/mounts on the car. I am not sure any of the bushes have ever been...
I've read that there isn't much performance difference between the track and street versions, apart from the extra vibrations. But tbh with lack of interior and a stiff ride I doubt it could be any worse!!
After my track session at Combe yesterday I think the next thing that needs doing is sorting my gear linkage out. I kept missing gears, struggled to get it into second going into Bobbies and ended up going through it one handed, coasting trying to get any gear. Not ideal. And I also got 2nd gear...
So a bit more about yesterday as I am on my computer now, I hate using my phone as the Google App doesnt work well for the forum.
Weather could not have been better, I definately caught the sun. So track time.....was amazing! I thought the 4pm slot would be quiet, no it wasn't. I got mugged by...
What is it with those seats??!? They aren't anything special! I had quite a few comments about them yesterday. I was going to swap them out but I might not now.
After the track session today at Combe all of the work that has been done this winter makes perfect sense. The car is totally different to what it was and is so much better. It has highlighted some areas for improvement and I can't wait to get started on them!!
Yes!!! The Ph1 is good to go.
I'm picking my friend up in Bath at about 9am and then heading over. It's going to be a long day otherwise seeing as my track time is 4pm.
If there are any spare track passes/any one can't make it can you please let me know, my step dad would like one.
EXHAUST PHOTO! I am in love with it. Any one want an exhaust, go get one from Infinity.
The guy who fitted it was very complimentory over the home made exhaust mount, said it was the best he had seen. This made my brother happy as he made it. Tiger Seal ftw
Also had a quick wash.
But...
When it is missing and running on 3 cylinders unplug each injector one at a time. If it goes to 2 cylinders then that injector isn't faulty. If there is no difference then that is the faulty one. But this will only work if it isn't intermittent. This is how I diagnosed mine, along with a OBD...
I thought so too! Please don't be another injector as it is such a pain.
Hmm...may change the coil pack anyway to see. But these symptoms are different to what I have had before so I thinking was I fixed that and something else has cropped up
I know that, that is what happened before when I had to change the injector. But I thought the lumpy idle was coil pack, but why would the EML start flashing if the coil pack is dodgey? Car was left idling for a bout 5 mins before the EML started to flash
I checked all the connections to the...
After replacing the injector the other week sometimes there is a bit of a lumpy idle when cold. Doesn't do it all the time, think its done it about twice since replacing the injector. Idles at just under 1k and it bounces around a little, like an RS2000 does. Then the EML started to flash after...
Mine had issues with not firing recently, sounds identical to what you had - turns over fine and it just wasnt firing/getting any fuel. Then after about 20seconds of turning over, left for 5mins it would start up fine. Didn't matter if the car was left for a week or a few hours, but didn't do it...
I painted mine myself. They were pretty good. I made sure they were clean, sanded back, filler primer, primer, paint then lacquer.
The only advise I can suggest is make sure there is lots of paint on them - not in one go!!! But trying to paint the insides of the spokes (I have F1's) was...
r****d moment.....injector wasn't actually connected. Not sure how it happened. Simple fix!!!
New exhaust is pretty damn fine. Custom made job. Centre silencer, decat and a single tip. Top notch! It's about 90dB at 4500rpm so will pass noise limits with ease. And the noise it makes is bang on...
It's the same symptoms as before so I am pretty certain injector, and isn't flashing EML injector? But the EML doesn't stay on like it did. It flashes for a while and then stops for a bit before flashing again. Before it flashed for a while and then went constant on, then back to flashing...
Tell me about it!! Hoping it's a simple fix, like a loose connection and not another new injector. I also have limited time to fix it as I am busy next two weekends and then it's track time at Combe! May have to take a day off work
So.....4 cylinders are over rated, it's all about running 3. Yes, the car decided to be a 3 cylinder again today. I gave it a bit of a push joining the M5, got to about 6k and it hesitated and then decided to be a 3 cylinder. I thought it was the rev limiter, but I got confused as I was nowhere...
Turned the car back into a 3 cylinder. I hear running fewer cylinders helps emissions........
So this afternoons job is to fix it. I thought it was solved the other week when I replaced an injector
