Time to start swapping the injectors around to find the bad one?Or I did read somehwere to unplug each injector inturn while running, if it makes no difference then that is the bad one. But I don't really fancy pulling out injector plugs while the car is running! Or I just need to man up
I did...
Presume the coil pack off my 1.4 daily Clio wont work 😂
From what I can find, there is no evidence of the coil pack being replaced in the huge stack of receipts I have. Car is on 167k miles, so it may be time to change them anyway! Just from past experience and what I have been told...
Having issues with the car running on three cyclinders, also idles like a pig.
Started with a constant EML Saturday morning, which the OBD reader said "Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected" (I was expecting a crank sensor issue as it hasn't been starting). Car ran fine on all 4 cylinders...
I still need to figure out how to upload pictures direct from my phone! But here is one of the spark plugs, they all look the same
Oh and obligatory alignment print out when I got the new tyres fitted :tongueclosed: not sure how the right rear camber can go from OK to bad without it being...
That's the better bearing iirc, those kind of things I would rather go for a better quality item. GSF do the same bearing and members get discount there. Also be careful when pressing the bearing out, I bent the calliper mounting points on my hub as the bearing was proper wedged in.
I thought it was some kind of theft protection to help stop or make it harder to force a screw driver into it.
I may rip mine out if others have, it does weigh quite a bit!
I was right, I have had a falling out with the car today.....it's decided to be a three cylinder :weary::rage: after checking all plugs, leads and injector wiring and resetting the EML it was running fine, I left it idling for ages. Then went to drive it, got less than a mile and EML came back...
I think it is a better piece of kit, it looks a lot sturdier. Also doesn't hang as low underneath the car as Whiteline. From what I have driven the car it has made a big difference.
I bought it second hand unused. I paid £160 for it. I think they are £190 new. Is it for your RB? As I don't suggest getting the 22mm one like I have! It's quite stiff! The 19mm is probably a lot better for normal road use.
After a bit of looking I the engine bay....crank sensor look fine. I...
Apparently it is a "Random Cylinder Missfire". Great! All spark plugs look ok, cool pack looks fine and so do the HT leads. Need to check the injectors next. Could this be a crank sensor issue?
I have a strong feeling I am going to fall out with the car today.....the EML has now come on. Need to get the code reader out when I get home and see how much this is going to cost me. Then I need to try and sort the exhaust out as a temporary fix.
But getting tyres fitted atm, been told have...
I don't even know what the paperwork it was to have it weighed, it was like an MOT certificate kind of thing. I know there is loads more to come out of it, just future problems......will be going plastic Windows hopefully this summer. Cage is needed before j start going fibreglass panels.
When I first got the car I am adamant I saw a piece of paper that it came with which said 862kg but I cannot seem to find this piece of paper again.....but I am very sceptical about this figure. I think I can add about 100kg onto that figure! I would like to get it weighed, see how far away I am...
I removed my air bag from mine when I got the top dash flocked and it did leave a hole. So I glued a piece of thin black plastic underneath to cover it up. Pictures in my progress thread if you need.
This sounds complex!!! I hate anything electronincs or electrical!!!
I may just get what fits without modifications!! WIll have to have a look before I buy and then not get it now
Apparently there are two crank sensors I can get for the Ph1 - a blue one and a black one. I don't have the car at hand to check what one I need, but what is the difference? Think I read somewhere that the blue ones are not as good. But will either work on the car?
I think I remember that it is...
May have to wait until next month to pay for this 😧 need tyres, exhaust and tracking done on the Ph1. Its that or I eat beans and pot noodles for the rest of February
Tyres have now been ordered, so when fitting them I will get a 4 wheel alignment. I am thinking it is alignment, but just wanted to check as I would be annoyed if it wasn't then it is money wasted on the new tyres and alignment!!!
Thanks for the advice
I can deal with toe in as that is solved by aligning properly. Was just worried that it was put together wrong.
It was just that both fronts have gone exactly the same, so maybe the set up I had on standard shocks with the new shocks and spacershas pushed the toe in equally both sides.
Gave the car it's first clean since Semptember! This was the state of it after driving it to North Wales and back
Looks a lot better now after a wash and less of a sorry state.
Did get up to 48mpg on the drive up, but did do the M6/M56 junction in an excitable manner so it dropped to 47mpg...
Done a bit of poking around. No error codes were recorded when the EML came on, which is annoying. I am just going to replace the crank sensor as a precaution anyway. Step dad thinks the "popping" noise from the exhaust when it doesn't start but turns over could be timing issues as it is firing...
The outsides of my front tyres have worn and need replacing. Both fronts have worn exactly the same and the same amount. I have just put new suspension and front spacers on and I know I need to get a proper wheel alignment. I am going to go for a standard set up. But what is causing the outsides...
Quick look on blackcircles.com and the AD08r's are £75 each fitted. I could go for two this month and the rear two next month. Is that a good price? I just need to see if the garage I was going to get my wheel alignment done is a black circles fitter or they will fit tyres not bought from there...
May have just gone through two front tyres......balls. Need to decide what to get as I fancy a change from the T1R's, any suggestions??? . Probably should get 4 of whatever I have and go matching on the back as they are some semi budget things. An expense I didn't want to have this month! Oh and...
I am yet to set mine up, I am not certain on the ride height that I have let alone damping! Will take it out on track and then decide.
Headlights were very simple - heat them up with a heat gun and prise the plastic lens off. Then wipe the chrome off with a damp cloth (think I had white...
The tow vehicle I want to get is a Discovery. Easily capable of towing, comfortable and can use it daily. Used to have one that towed a Fiesta track car years ago and it did that with ease.
I have no idea what spring rating they are sorry!! @Dr Jekyll may know as they were his before me.
What other suspension upgrades have you done, as I put solid top mounts on too and a rear anti roll bar and it feels stiff, but that is what I wanted for track use. Driving down small lanes is now...
Not had a proper chance to look at this yet, but the EML was flashing after I started it the other day after struggling to start. Solved that by turning the car off and on again! Then I thought it could be injector issue. I did have a problem back in August where it was sat for a week in heavy...
