    Tbh that's a very very good price. Will be non genuine parts or he didnt replace the aux KIT not just the belt.

    172/182 strut top knocking fix

    Take the top hat off and see if you have a 16mm nut or a 21mm nut. The revised top mount has a new spacer design in it to stop the knocking.

    New set of rings is like £200 retail for genuine ones, ARP's and head gasket set and bolts is about £300. That's excluding fluids and extras like valves. Plus machine work etc

    Mot regs say the light has to come on and go off. Do it properly, take it to a specialist with the right equipment to reprogram the ecu.

    J, moynes is selling my old 197'd and ARP'd engine for £400. Did 200bhp on my rs2 ;) Chuck that in and build up a high comp motor in due course.

    None of the symptoms of a dephaser pulley. If your brother is doing it, make sure he has all the genuine locking tools, else he'll do more harm than good.

    Yeh Silent scone said there is an important reason it's in upside down. He fitted it upside down and never corrected it.

    Well, covered 300 miles since the rebuild now. Feels awesome, went and did the mapping last night, had a mate driving it and he was loving how well it drove. Have aired on the side of caution on the ignition side until I can have a set of det cans to use. I'm only seeing 15 degrees at WOT...

    Running in fresh build engine

    I was running mine in this week. Asda's oil, varied load up to 4.5 k up to 3/4 throttle, so was seeing .1-0.3Bar of boost. lots of over run. 25 miles, drop the oil, new decent oil in, and I've been out mapping it this evening inc WOT.

    Brake cleaner is great for running on sniff. Yeh don't spray loads in else it'll go into self destruct mode lol

    Brake cleaner is a better thing for getting it going. A knackered injector would cause low fuel pressure..

    It would be silly loud unless you make it entirely out of silencers.

    You have checked the inside of the CV boot yeh? They get spat into there sometimes.
