im an OEM kinda guy and have never owned a set of aftermarket wheels, however im looking for something for the GT as 1. its under wheeled and 2. its needing tyres soon!
ive pretty much set myself on OZ superleggeras as i seen this and like it...
what i dont understand is all the ins and outs...
im lost these days with all this FF talk lol, would that be a 200 with cup suspension or just a non cup 200 and the cup pack would need added on top of that?
service history is important, must have receipts for a cambelt change, if it doesnt, you want to knock yourself off £250 or there abouts, it should be due its second belt change now @ 10yrs old.
should pull well from just under 2000rpm, its hardly fast but should pull strong all the way to...
somthing i must add! when i had my little dci65 (pictured above) it was sooo slow i didnt even try and drive the thing fast thats why i used to average well over 60mpg every day! and that was bloddy town driving!
when i got my 100 and eventually mapped it, it had twice the power so i used to...
keeping in mind we own a driving school, i think our pass rate would fall substantially if we only gave people gearbox lessons, i doubt the examiners would be equally impressed by our pupils using heel and toe to blip on the downshift ;)
as above best mod ive done to my ph1 so far, massive mid range gain on a car that was already pretty handy mid range even compaired to my previous 188!, and that got a good gain from a 182 manifold so im going to make that my next performance mod.
as yourself i just want to build my ph1 so its...
i just done it out of curiosity, its just a number, as long as your happy. people see i spent all that money for not much power and think it was a waste, to me it was worth it as it pulled harder and had so much nicer drivability,
my mate had the same issue, they sent him a new centre section and booked a courier to pick up the old one no quibbles, however he had only owned it for a few weeks so they never asked for any proof of ownership etc
was done on the scottish RR day from here with 30 odd other cars, all putting out what you would expect an RS clio to put out, in the region of 165-175 depending on 172 or 182, i stuck mine on and it put out 173bhp lol! i did chuck a bottle of octaine booster in lol!! was always a quick car from...
haha i wouldnt say im the man, ive just spent a s**t loads on different setups.
i think these are of a saxo but same idea(pic at bottom), on the left is the new coilover if you look you will see it has a threaded bit that the spring sits on, this gives you your height adjustment, so you can go...
remap!!!! best bang for buck mod!
wouldnt bother with just springs, it kills the dampers after a couple of months and anything decent to replace them with costs a bomb ie bilstein or koni
my 188bhp 172 pulled just over a cars length on a 182 that was bang on side by side with me from 40 to 100, its not exactly a massive gain but he was one of these guys that beleived all the marketing hype that a 182 would blow a 172 away so was quite funny!
for the mods you have 10-15bhp is what id expect, thats what i got for similar mods. - uprated spark plugs are probably not helping, get them back to standard asap.
on the road you wont notice 10-15bhp a great deal, a simple thing such as a bad start or missed gear will soon wipe off that...
remap transforms the 100!! i couldnt beleive it having been used to n/a cars and spending £1500 for 15bhp and then suddenly getting 25-30bhp and 40lbft for £250!!
correct the 197 is old news, as will be the 200 soon enough, then then its replacement soon after that. its progress. it happens, doesnt make the old one a bad car just the new ones are a different level.
trophy are old news these days, the game has moved on. if he was going to downgrade his 197 for a trophy then he would be as well saving his cash and getting a ph1 - best of the clio 2 bunch!
