    Old Skool cool cars

I knew a lad with a blue Eclipse many years ago. His had S2 RST wheels on it. The Orion Equipe benefitted from the mighty 1.4 CVH, the Eclipse was a 1.3 wasn't it? Sadly, seeing that car has made me look through some old pictures from when I was in the Orion club, so here are some of them! If...

    Old Skool cool cars

Went and did a few photos of this today for a mag, so so cool. Orion Equipe with Cossie 4x4 wheels, Cossie brakes, coilovers and a 2.0 Zetec engine. Soon to be fitted with a supercharger. All original inside, evendown to the tape player. Still has dealer plates and stickers, just so understated...

I also greatly approve of the deflector removal. I think they're blinkin' awful, looks so so so much better without them!

    K-Tec Racing Clio 182 Championship

Mark Fish runs in this series so I'm sure he would be able to give you a good idea of costs.

    172 cup replacement - 5dr meg 225

Side exit exhausts are f**king cool. Not on this car I admit, but still f**king cool.

Congratulations Mark. Best get the Clio finished before then!

    Old Skool cool cars

You're not wrong there. At it's peak it was a sub-4 second 0-60, 180mph which, at the time it was built, was unbelievably fast, let alone today!

    Cup shocks VS the world

My car is on all standard stuff with Eibach Pro springs and is still brilliant fun on track. as you say, it's not about lap records, just about having fun and a standard car in good nick is more than up to it :)

    Cup shocks VS the world

The problem you've got is that performance on road and track are very different. If you make it a great car on track, it will be terrible on the road and a good road car will be compromised on track. My personal view is that I can't understand why anyone would fit coilovers to a road car...

    Old Skool cool cars

Indeed. Reyland built some great cars over the years. In fact, it's a good excuse for some Reyland p**n... And a couple of EsCos pictures I found while looking for these... I tell you what, you can keep your Evo/Impreza, the Escort is king of the rally reps...

    Old Skool cool cars

Cheers. Mine started life as a 1.8 LX but my friend had converted it to Ghia X spec inside so it had heated, electric leather, trip computer etc etc. They were such great cars too. Yes, I know the car you mean, had Cosworth running gear. It's still about, lives in Ireland these days but doesn't...

I hadn't seen that I must say. Probably not as I will most likely be under the Escort (giggity) and the Clio is currently SORN so would have to bring the RRRRRR instead :(

Should go well with the new engine Tony. I want a proper engine for mine :(

    Craigy's 172 cup, back again.

Nice. I'd like a clean standard one really. I love my ratty one as I can do what I want with it without worrying, but it would be nice to have a minter too.

I really like my Fatty induction kit. I think the alloy bend looks better than silicone myself, more "proper". Probably louder too. Saying that, I should paint the pipe black as that looks good! Doesn't matter now anyway, SM inlet here I come lol.

Impressive how light these things can be without going too bonkers, bet it's good fun!

Fair enough but, if you decide to sell it, let me know, I'd take it off your hands :)

    Track Car dilemma

Clio all the way. Cheap to buy, don't rust nearly as badly as the Mazda and millions of new and used tuning bits out there. My boggo 172 Cup seems to make mincemeat of most MX-5s on track too, so surely it's worth it on pointless ego boost alone.

For the record, if you do decide to switch to a Cup spoiler, I'll take the Trophy one off your hands. In fact, my Cup is currently SORN'd so would be happy to take the spoiler off for you and we you could send me the Trophy one when you've had a chance to swap them :)

    106 gti 3500

I like it. Fit the right wheels and put the badges etc back and you've essentially got what looks like a 106 Maxi, I could live with that.

    Jekyll's RB182 Progress Thread

I vote keep the spoiler and bin the deflectors. I would say that though, because I think wind deflectors are probably the most hateful modification you can make to a car lol.
  24. massiveCoRbyn

    Jekyll's RB182 Progress Thread

Looks good that, do love RB. Set of spacers will finish it off nicely. Would ditch the wind deflectors though, really don't like them.

Shame about the engine failure Tony, was good to meet you and have a chat at Snet. I took a few pictures and put them in a thread if you haven't seen them already: http://www.cliosport.net/threads/tricolore-trophy-amongst-other-things-at-snetterton.792186/#post-11079924

    Clio Grande 1.2 Mk2 Ph1 upgrade project

Personally I'm not a fan of Ph.2 lights on a Ph.1, I think it looks better with the standard lights, but it's a nice colour and looks in good shape. A set of wheels from a Sport of some kind, coupled with a slight drop and it would look a lot better without breaking the bank.

This weeks work on the Trophy

Each to their own bud :) it's still a cool car. Can't decide which colour wheels I prefer though!
