erm, can't see how the dephaser being slack would cause an oil leak. that's a complete co-incidence, or the leak has been caused by a badly fitted seal and is related to the depahser failing. If the wrong seal had been fitted then i can easily see this causing both issues
You'd be surprised, it's not just having and using the tools, it's knowing how to use them. I've fixed a fair number that were done with the right tools but still miles out
have you monitored alternator voltage under load?
never measured on a clio but some cars have a voltage stabiliser for the pump so it's never over ~12v if that's not there and the alternator is over charging then that could be your issue, or something similar
i painted my 200sx intercooler in matt black barbeque paint. Hammerite stuff is runny as water so no chance of clogging the fins black is better for dealing with heat
if it's mapped on high octane, you need to stick to that octane or you'll have issues. Not so much on a standard car, but on somehting that's been optimised you're much closer to any tollerence limits so you can't just use crap or you'll be into detonation and losea big old chunk of power...
