no you're right it doesn't look like it is, but oil mist blowing aorund can make things hard to trace. TBH it's almost certain to be coming from the linkage
the thing that's often forgotten is there's more to it than full throttle. Where you will most likely lose out is part throttle driving at or under 50% throttle opening, where you'll spend most of the time around town
i had a similar problem with flash, but in firefox, recently. kept crashing every time i hybernated the laptop and wouldn't work without a full restart. I think i disabled some of the flash add-ons and it sorted it
