i'd be very surprised if the aux belt wasn't done at the same time as the cambelt, even if it's not written in the book. Does sound like the tensioner might be seized if the belt is slipping, so an aux belt kit is a good idea ASAP
they're 480cc, but with a single fuel hose setup there's no boost compensation to the regulator as it's in the tank, so they're slightly capped by that
I ran them in a 205, couldn't get across Milton Keynes without fading to nothing, pedal was to the floor on the 4th roundabout. £9 pads from a factor and total confidence restored
i wouldn't use them if i was paid TBH. FAR worse than budget cheapo pads. anyone who thinks they're acceptable doesn't use the car to the level of needing anything but standard
i have to be honest, that is the sole reason i have a hatred of used engines, and why i'd rather rebuild or repair.
changing 2 pulleys (4 bolts in total FFS) isn't going to cause you ANY problem if you're prepared to fit a head to a block.
hmm, new pulley then. wouldn't have EVER run like that without throwing the aux belt, so it's been whacked somewhere along the line. that pulley HAS TO be removed to fit a new cambelt whatever you do, you say you have other engines, so fit a pulley from one for those. Suck it up, it's minor
looks like the pulley's been removed and just fitted on the piss to be honest. Not quite sure how, but can see it would be possible. would need removing to put a new cambelt on anyway, pulley is far from the end of the world
if it's breathing it will be piston/ring/bore related (glazed bores/bore wash/cracked ringland), or valve guide and stem seals worn (it's french, they do this)
i've seen one of these, nothing wrong with the bits, but i have a slight issue with the main arm not being there as i've seen a lot of them seized recently, and a load of them shatter when you try to de-tension them
well i'm impressed with my Janspeed. Good sounds, no knocking on the axle like the mongoose normally does, and friendly on the wallet. Piper system for a mk1 is really nice too
loving my toyos, better than the pile of dogmuck eagle F1s i had on before.
Having said that i did have 4 different makes of budget tyres on my 300bhp 200sx and it wasn't bad, proper suspension made more of a difference
