the "vent hole" isn't an oil breather, it's just a vacuum take-off that goes to the carbon canister. It's unimportant. There's a very small oil hole that you can just put a screw in
but that just means the length of the wishbone is different, which isn't in question. The actual subframe is the same width. There's even a difference between ph1 172 and 182 wishbones.
cat 420s are "standard" billet cams. Basically intended for motorsport use when you have to have standard, they're just the best you can have within tollerence
erm, more like £150 for the correct tools from renault, and non genuine aren't worth thier weight in scrap.
Jason, glad it's sounding better with an oil change, any more problems just get Adey to give me a shout ;)
I'd guess at neglected servicing (belts) and they've had a quote from renault to have it done and been scared.
Bargain if it's good and just needs the belts doing
blow it out with an airline if you can. wouldn't worry about a few drops though, it'll soon evaporate ones it's running. squirt of wd40 if it's going to be sitting a while
i wouldn't if there's no problem. a good clean out is a vital part of the cambelt change process IMO, and it seems to do pretty well at keeping things fresh
I'd use Pristeen as i've know them for years, my best friend worked there for a long time, and i've seen a lot of their work over years. Best off seeing some examples of the work from wherever you choose first IMO
