    Piston on Rear calipers

I've had a 205 gti (same caliper) do that before and it never worked the same again :( clockwise is correct, it should just go onto the thread with a little pressure at the same time as turning (a special tool is available)

    MINT MG Metro Turbo!

that's utterly awesome!!!!! I think the colour works TBH. So 80s

    Spark plugs are bloody tight!

sparkplug sockets are sized strange. They're 5/8 technically too, not 16mm

:) I've only touched them in Lagunas, megane 1, and a couple of clio 2

Asking for some out of the box thinking please?

please lower it, those arch gaps are upsetting me

    water pump needs replacing

can't make that call over the internet. I think it'd be worth your while getting a tow to Birchdown as they're your nearest specialist

    water pump needs replacing

I'd argue that point, and isn't it only the very latest (as in this year) 1.4 and 1.6 that even have vvt??? I know the few 1.6 (k4m) that i've worked on havn't had it

    Turbocharger or Supercharger??

sounds like you've seen cars with Eaton blowers fitted. Rotrex superchargers behave very differently

    Help... wasting money???

swings and roundabouts. Power will help you overtake quicker and safer, brakes and suspension will help you deal with the corner that's approaching a lot faster after the overtake, due to more power. A balance of both is the key to modification. Very much agree on the 5-7bhp gains

Possible fix for inner CV boot splits

I'll repeat myself then. IT DOESN'T FIT. The inner joint uses a very different boot to the outer on a ph2 172/182

Possible fix for inner CV boot splits

dont work, dont fit, wrong sort

Possible fix for inner CV boot splits

ph1 uses a 1 piece shaft, not a split shaft. The inner end on single piece shafts is different, and there's a replacement boot kit available I believe

How bad an idea is this?

works perfectly well. Just drop to a 40 profile and you'll keep a close to std rolling radius, and wont have extra sidewall wobble

Standard 182 vs 182 with Cup packs?

That's down to buying the wrong shocks IMO. If they dont have camber adjustment, they should be cheap enough that you can buy camber bolts. Any thing I'd spec, comes with camber adjust as standard

my mk1 cup racer blog (updates page 29)

It's definitely not the same as the renault one

    Williams in a mark 2

rev counter might be an issue. PH2 uses CAN. not sure if you can totally bypass that

    belt change

no idea on a diesel. Best off asking Steve (SBV116)

    belt change

Birchdown would be your nearest specialist I think

Belts need changing - huddersfield area

LOL. OK, i'd say i've done roughly 80 of these, you're really simplifying it a hell of a lot, and that's why it's so common for the job to be done wrong.

Standard 182 vs 182 with Cup packs?

just means the non cupped ones are even cheaper due to less demand. Bonus
  21. S

Standard 182 vs 182 with Cup packs?

why would you bother with upgrading suspension, and not having camber adjustment? Camber changes with adjusting the ride height, adjustment is imperative My personal opinion is, if you're planning to mod the car, a few optional extras are over-ridden. There's so little difference anyway in...

Bit of a question for the Engine Boffins....

just a completely different hose. You can leave the canister there if you're worried about tank breather fumes, wont make any difference, just leave the pipe off to the engine. all you'll need then is a piece of hose, and a bung (bolt will do the job) and a couple of jubillee clips, OR just use...

    TwentyValver Project Thread

would the fab guy be Chris (goes by "northern chris" on forums) ?? Equal length driveshafts would defintely be better, i think you'll struggle though, the space is restrictive to say the least

Another Inner Cv joint split within 1 week

there's your problem. IMO that almost doesn't exist :( bought in 3 once and all had early signs of splitting. An new one from renault is the only way to go, or you'll keep having the same problem

Another Inner Cv joint split within 1 week

did you fit a new one or a good used one?
  29. S

    good mod,

ROFL, what a lot of tosh. Your plugs must have just been shafted to start with. A £10 set of NGK BCPR6ES would have done the same

Bit of a question for the Engine Boffins....

Simple enough in this case. Keep the 172 manifold, block the carbon canister takeoff and bin the canister, and the rest goes straight in
