my god, I couldn't even find a standard car that needed work for £2500. This is a really nice car with quite a bit well spent. If it were mine I'd want £3500 minimum
sounds like an exhaust, air filter and a group N ECU re-flash. Be surprised if you made as much as 10bhp just from that in all honesty, and that's with only around 160-165 to start with. Where were the power runs done?
couldn't be furthur from the truth. There's as much work in doing a rat-look resto build as there is in a concourse build. I've spent hours helping get shutlines on rare buses perfect. One in particular had the both chassis legs snapped when the floorpan resto was started. Making sure you have...
get a compression test done. If it's normal, fit some new spark plugs (and check the old ones for obvious damage) check all plugs are on injectors, and HT leads are connected to the coil and spark plugs correctly :)
Got to agree with that. Shocking number come in for service with leaking rear dampers
Personally I think the clio chassis is excellent but the steering is over assisted just a little. Good handling is subjective anyway though, sometimes people just dont like the way a car works while others...
Paul C had them on his valver a few years back, it handled awefully and looked like a cartoon. The wheels flat-spotted really quickly because of the low profiles needed to make things fit, and it just generally wasn't that nice to be in. The change to 17s made a massive difference and it was...
spitting on the seal is good ;) you dont really want to use grease as it can rot the rubber prematurely which is bad on the fuel system lol. Getting petrol on the seals before fitting them will make them swell and be harder to get in
IMO, get the one you want for looks then build it up with the bits you want to make it go how you want. Thinks like suspension, wheels and seats are very easy to change so if you can get a better condition shell and engine that lacks a couple of bits you want, it's got to be the common sense way...
wouldn't ever choose an alpie sub personally, everything else they do is great but the subs lack a little something.
Vibe subs are loud and punchy but lack any real finesse.
Infinity or Rockford Fosgate all day long for me but from your choises i'd say the Vibe Active 12
