we are using LTO3, the issue when you get to bigger tape drives is that you cannot stream the data quick enough for the tape to keep streaming and therefore get the speeds they say you can get, even with LTO4 its extremely difficult to get the speeds as you just can't keep a constant stream to...
i just can't believe some of the stuff i am being asked to size up these days, people wit terabytes of data, 1 tb SAS drives, its getting ridiculous, will it jsut continue to grow exponentially?
HP have launched something called an Extreme Data Storage System, the smallest configuration you can...
hmmm, try resetting the av, hold down the on button for ages, think its about 10 seconds, it resets the video settings back to default.
I had this same issue when i had used it on my dads 1080p tv, set it to 1080p and then it came up with no signal on my tv as it doesn't support 1080p, reset it...
shock, you following me around again, how about reading the thread before mouthing off, it wasn't me who mentioned canon or the 50d first, it was andy and then clart, i just joined in, i didn't take it off topic, and so what if it did take a different route, thats what happens in discussions...
agreed, much better option.
d40 seems to be a bit of a white elephant regarding what lenses you can buy from what i have been hearing, no issues with canon cameras regarding this though.
My 350d has done me very wel over the last couple of years, more than good enough for a first DSLR camera...
indeed, magazine prints are surprisingly low dpi aswell, they really aren't very high quality normally.
As for the image size, the jpg is between 3.5 and 8mb, which seems a surprisingly big range now i come to think about it!
raw are about 25mb i think, there are different raw sizes, sraw for...
pointless really as they will be resized to go on here anyway, only way is to get the same photo taken on a 40d and a 50d and d90 at the same iso and host on flickr and compare, but again, because the cameras have more mp's you still can't compare at the pixel level, as mentioned above, they are...
what are you using for macro, preume the fowers were with a macro?
do you not feel limited not having anything between 20 and 120 except for the 50? or don't you need as it as you mostly take the long motorsport shots?
sadly not, in the south, but i dealt with them over the phone, they seemed very genuine though, especially when i asked if they dealt with grey stock etc.
I liked them for not trying to rip people off at launch for being early adopters, would buy from them again for sure.
indeed, i've been using iso 800 and 1600 and its really rather good. I haven't fired the flash from any of my indoor shots yet, something i definitely wouldhave done with the 350, i have even popped it up yet, for all i know it doesn't work lol.
Was going to ask for a flash for christmas, not...
LOL @ warfare, not really, just discussions, anyway, the d90 seems nice, although i don't think the pictures would have been any worse on your d50 really, i've probably experienced the same as you, moving up a camera doesn't necessarily mean better photos (to start off with anyway), but...
thats not all the features though, read the review above, 50% more pixels, in camera lens micro adjustment, HDMI, 4x the sensitivity, UDMA support, auto vignetting correction based on individual lenses pre-loaded.
there are lots of improvements.
I bought my 50d from RGB-tech, would recommend them, very helpful and unlike all the other retailers out there were not fleecing people at launch, people like warehouse express were charging a ridiculous rrp of £1199, I paid under that with a kit lens!
This is a good review though, between the...
so you've read the dpreview that everyone is talking about, its a bit of a farce really, they are not the normal reviewers, and they messed it up, they used a pre-release version of the adobe software for the 50d pics and then said they got of the right one at the last minute and changed the...
for your budget, i'd say the 400d, wouldn't worry about picture quality, its more to do with talent and what lens you use really.
I've got some amazing shots with my 350d with decent lens's.
i don't see why not, they get good reviews, might not have the pedigree for DSLR's but they certainly have the range and features to match any nikon or canon.
guess we will have to agree to disagree then.
I also mentioned all the points you do about virtualisation, single pane of glass is just one of them.
p.s. whats an SP? if you mean sales person, then i'm far from it, i'm a technical consultant and implementation engineer, i sell the solution to...
must admit, we don't usually deal with companies below 50 pc's, but we aren't enterprise, we are mid market, so deal with 50-3000 pc's normally. But then vmware is an enterprise product really, small businesses with a couple of servers don't really need virtualisation, its larger companies who...
ok, i see where you are going now.
yes, the hypervisor that is esxi is free to install, but i have never met a company that is doing just that, downloading the free product and nothing else.
ESXi is used by all the versions of esx virtual infrastructure, the one you have has very little...
never got around to uploading and cropping them but here are a few that i took, half way up the stadium and without any cropping or editing, straight out of the camera, god i love the 70-200L!

nice catch
love this...
i'd say front row, you should get decent shots with a 200, especially being at the half way line.
Only issue is some pitches i have been to have the pitch raised so front row means you are looking at their shins, think old trafford was one of those.
Can't see you having many issues with a 200...
