    Canon 50mm F1.8 any good?

great value for money lens, feels very light and plasticy but the image quality is damn good. Just not an easy lens to use IMO, takes a bit of getting used to with the very shallow DOF, its caught me out a few times.

it doesn't sound like hes talking about mission critical data though mate, hes using sata arrays............... My whole life at work revolves around enterprise servers and storage, my specialities being blades, mid range storage (HP EVA and MSA), archiving, backups and virtualisation and I...

    VMWare ESXi

that 1 license may be free, but ESXi is not free. and you can add a lot of storage onto a cheap server, using daisy chained msa60 shelves off a p800 controller, thats 8 x (12 x 750gb) from 1 controller, or 96 TB (more than an EVA 4100 and the same as an EVA4400), thats a lot of storage. Cheap...

    VMWare ESXi

for the cost of vmware, you can purchase cheap servers for each app and still work out cheaper, vmware is useful for dr, maintenance etc. guess it depends if you have the cheapo version or the enterprise though, the enterprise at £3.5k a pop is 4-5 cheap servers etc. And yes I do know what a...

    VMWare ESXi

indeed, vmware is rubbish without using a san and gaining functionality like DRS & vmotion. they even have storage vmotion now so that you can migrate machines between different sans on the fly and site recovery manager to enable you to fail all your vm's to a dr site if the site gets blown up...

    VMWare ESXi

its a tough one, personally thought my MCSE was a lot easier, the VCP needed a lot of knowledge and hands on experience, i've lost most of the knowledge since and kept the experience tbh, failed it first time by 1%, that was annoying but i got it the second time without much hassle. its...

    17-55 IS, thoughts?

you'll have the same lens setup as me, i too have all those three. My 17-55 is a good kit lens, nice and fast, great in low light, IS works pretty well, not had any issues with it yet and i've take about 1000 photos while in peru. I have got a rather large spec of dust close to the centre of...

Recommend me a UV and polorizing filter for D60

you do have a better chance with one on though, you have next to no chance if you don't have one on. I had the opposite experience, i dropped mine and the filter broke saving the lens. Got a hood on now though for even more protection. I have taken pics with and without it and can't see any...

Whats these bits worth these days?

rubbish, the 70-200 lens is one of the best lens's available, its soooooo fast to focus and the images are second to none. The build quality is really good too. The best lens I ever bought and like using the most is the 70-200 F4 L, plus its white which is just cool.

    TVcatchup

i'm guessing that as its very new, not all connection points and servers will be aware of it yes so it might be a waiting game maybe? Also, it relies on having the latest updates so i'd either try FF3 if you aren't (thats what i am browsing it through) or update your flash to the latest version...
