So for the wide track conversion using 172 parts you need what?
172 hubs and wishbones, shocks and calipers, 172 steering rack, 172 antiroll bar? Am I missing something? Does the anti roll bar fit the valver as they seem different?
Hi there,
A friend just bought a valver and I'm trying to help him with getting the car close to a nice enjoyable to driving machine.
First thing is the car needs a fresh exhaust, we were wondering which pipe diameter suits these cars the best - I reckon 2.25" as it will not get heavy engine...
Kev, I was comparing the fronts only, and it looks like the B14 are indeed stiffer than the 275lb gaz.
So it looks like the rear is much stiffer on the gaz (being coilovers instead of the classic beam setup)
Bottom line the Gaz is set to a softer front end and a stiffer rear and the B14 is the...
Yeah I know you can get stiffer springs for them, just a bit confused on how stiff the billies actually are, they're 90nm/mm (according to some sources) front which is about 400lbs/in (correct me if I'm wrong).
I'm thinking of the billies as my next coilover set so just want to make sure they...
Bump to this old one, but spec wise the Bilstein has stiffer springs than the basic spec GHA that is 275lbs/in front, and people say the billies are too soft for track use. I have the gha kit with the base spec and they could be a little stiff on the track but I imagine if they would be as stiff...
In the avensis family car the climate works just fine. On auto it doesn't roast you and for sure I can remember that the clio used to be fine. So I think there's a fault somewhere
Did a test the other day.
Switched off the auto function and set the vent speed manually to a mid position, ac off and started to play with the temperature only and found out that between 18 and max there is a small difference meaning it blows hot air basically. Only if going to the minimum...
1. Can't be sure how he fitted the seal as I saw the car when it was fully done. Tbh I didn't even knew about the correct fitment of the seal! Bugger that's a tough one to check now ?
2. I have a breather filter fitted as I have a silicone induction hose that replaced the original but it doesn't...
Hi there guys,
Been a good and a sad day for me yesterday, I went to the first trackday this year, the car had recently been sorted for some issues and it really was a great day, perfect weather, managed a good time, etc.
As I was saying one of the recent problems was an oil leak from the crank...
Hi there,
A friend of mine just bought a valver and now he found a williams abandoned in some yard for about 1500 euros, we didn't went to see the car yet so what should we look for to see if it's indeed what the seller says?
In the pics you could see the body which is definitely willy...
Take a 182 trophy, strip it to bits, reinforce the shell, figure out how to make the gearbox stronger, couple it with a more usable gear linkage than the pms one (you wouldn't want a new car to have transmission noise inside the cabin), make the suspension components a bit stronger but not over...
Figured it out eventuality, but thx anyway!
Btw, I used hot water with laundry powder detergent. 5 minutes into the water and a little scrub with a nylon brush and I think it worked better than any other product.?
Hey guys, bit of a help here,
I took apart the AC control box to clean it and in the circuit board compartment I found this orange plastic thing. Any idea where it should sit?
Nobody did anything to their cars for 3 years??
Changed the rear wiper motor plus arm and wiper blade.. It was a pain till I found out how to remove the motor, fortunately I looked at the new one a d figured it out lol..
Tip : if the motor axle that protrudes to the outside has some play in it...
Bumpy bump!
Ok so it's clear they won't fall of if done properly and if any scrub occurs you can sort it somehow (chop the arches i don't know)
What I'm concerned is they will ruin the scrub radius and it will alter what renault did well in the first place.. Or is the extra track width...
Well.... the guy that promised me the ate sensor just gave my money back as his supplier canceled his order...... The triscan sensor is nowhere to be found either, it's out of stock everywhere on multiple autoparts stores across EU and UK also.
FInding a second hand part is virtually impossible...
any news? great effort, can't imagine how hard it is.. I'm totally aware of the effort as I'm from the country up north to you so not much difference in our pockets :)
