    Mk2 172/172 Cup track width...

Ok so if the ph2 subframes ar all the same according to the thread above, and the wishbone also on the 172 and 182 cups that means the 172 cup still has a wider track due to the wheel offset? I find this odd

    Mk2 172/172 Cup track width...

This has to be a mega bump lol! But I'm no sure even now after so many years reading about these cars about the track of the 172 cup. People say that it has the subframe holes drilled wider to increase the track. This combined with the lower offset wheels should give quite an impressive track...

Braking lacks initial bite - 182

Yes I did check the calipers. I'm picky when dealing with brakes, using ate grease on contact points, mounting everything clean and so on. Sliders are cleaned and greased once a year

Braking lacks initial bite - 182

No not the pedal travel, I mean the brake power under a certain force applied to the pedal. You barely touch the brake in my mate's car and boom it stops whereas in mine you have to push harder to get the same result. It's like a servo assisted brake vs one without assist let's say

Braking lacks initial bite - 182

Oe pads are mintex. My mate has brembo oe pads and hc discs. His car has been bled at least 2 years ago as that's how long he has it and still brake feel is night and day compared

Braking lacks initial bite - 182

Hi, My 2005 182 FF pretty much lacks that initial brake bite. Been in my friend's 182 the other day (cup packed as mine and in good shape) and there is a very noticeable feel in the brakes, you apply a small amount force and the car slows down whereas in my car you must apply more force on the...

    Maxxis zr9 Victra

Still not sure on these.. I currently run the 595 rsr's on 16" rims and really like them but they're also my daily summer tyre so would like smth only for the trackdays. But if these zr9's would be weaker than the rsr's i'd be sad tbh. That's the dilemma

    My leaky engine/gearbox issues

Hi guys, It's a long one so bare with me :) Over the past 3 years I've been doing some trackdays once or twice a year (yep, way fewer that I planned to) and since 2018 I had some leaks following these sessions It all started mid 2018 when after a 20 min track session I found oil all over the...

    Failed Brembo brackets

Exactly. You already save weight so why bother with alloy brackets? Ok on a super dedicated track machine that gets inspected after every event yeah it makes sense
  12. ripp

    Failed Brembo brackets

Bottom line is.. Why don't get steel ones and stay worry free? The weight penalty is no issue whatsoever in that spot. Or maybe some very minimal gain not worth talking about.

    Powerflex front strut top mounts

Took them a while to make these for a 15+year old car! But have to agree that I don't see much difference in them. The only aftermarket solid mounts I'd buy are some solid adjustable ones.

    Coilovers - Lower the rear

You will grow out of this low stuff believe me. Better get is as low as it still has some dampening and drivability to it. Like most of us said it looks quite low as it is now

    Maxxis zr9 Victra

Hi there, Found these in 196 50 15 sizeat a very good price (i mean very!) but as expected they are DOT 2013 They are new, sold by a online store. Would buy them for trackday use only and for dry weather. They're like 30 quid a corner so very tempted.. Are they absolutely rubbish after 6 years...

Induction Kits - KEEP THE FILTERS OILED!

bump to this! I have a k-tec style induction fitted with a ramair foam filter which I am cleaning every 3-6000 miles and also oiling it properly but still find some dust in the silicone hose after the filter. Are there any better filters out there? maybe more expensive brands like pipercross or...

    Wheel colour advice (R19 speedlines)

Hi there, Will be painting the winter wheelset this friday, they're 15" renault 19 16v speedlines, currently gold (see picture bellow) Options I am thinking now are: Keep them gold as yeah.. gold matches blue blah blah White - looks smart but gets dirty instantly and tbh I don'd wanna brush...

Clio 182 - road car / track car / race car

waiting for the test drive as I ordered the pms beam strenghtening kit as well :) Hope you'll like it (and hopefully me too:P) Nice story you have here, don't sell the car! Crankshaft diameter

Hi there, By any chance does anyone have a stripped engine or a 1*2 crank at hand? I need the crank diameter on the flywheel side, the area where the seal sits on the crank to be specific, as far as I know it should be around 80mm. Should be measured in 3 spots with a good caliper to make a...

EBC Yellowstuff- my 3 years experience

Had absolutely not a single issue with the Ferodo which were on the car for even longer, in exactly the same conditions (I have the car since 2006 and went through about 4 sets of pads so far, none showed any sign of failure)

EBC Yellowstuff- my 3 years experience

Had nothing to complain about their performance either, they did the job great but EBC should warn the customers that in time these pads could fail, something like "keep the pads untill min pad thickness reached or for maximum of 2 years (or so) " That way we could avoid possibly catastrophic...

EBC Yellowstuff- my 3 years experience

Well I bought new pads obviously, but will never ever touch EBC unless I will know that I'll burn them pretty quickly because it seems that they don't do well against time. What about someone that has a weekend car and does 1000 miles per year?? Is that person supposed to change the pads every...

Hi guys I want to share my experience with these pads, maybe it will help someone in taking the right decision regarding pad choice First of all, they were fitted in september 2016 along with new discs, ATE plastilube used on pad contact points with the caliper and piston to avoid any seizing...

Wow this was amazing to read.. A friend of mine just bought a valver and I was wondering : where do you find parts for a car this age nowadays? Looks like even aftermarket stuff is almost gone.. That's a shame really..
