For two hour I'm on the phone with various suppliers and no joy.
Renault have discontinued to make this part, ATE appears to have done the same. Where am I supposed to find the damn thing? It's a 2005 car not 1958 ffs :((
found this thread...
lol yeah... instead of the std ones I'd better live with the noisier solid ones and replace the bearings once every couple of years. The previous ones lasted around 5 years before one of them started to develop a play in it
Hi guys,
Did some diy work on the car yesterday and wanted to share some stuff here also.
The mounts:
As you can see I have the old style k-tec solid mounts. Thanks to some lovely chaps here I found the right bearings to replace - SKF GEH20C. There are other options on the market (even...
What do these standsrd washers look like? don't remember seeing them in my mounts. Only visible componets are the mount body, the bearing pressed inside and the retaining circlip
Yeah I know that but I'm about to throw some 600 quid into other repairs. Paying 70 for 2 bearings plus 40 for transport to my country is 110. This is nearly the cost of the PMS mounts for example which is a bit too much now. That's why I'm trying to find replacement bearings locally at a...
One of the k tec ones has a play in the bearing, so wanna take it off and start looking for a replacement bearing set. Untill then I would be using the std ones
Hey @STEVE.M
I am currently running the k tec solid mounts and I'm thinking I might go for the std ones untill I'm gonna find replacement bearings for the solid ones. Question is.. That stepped spacer you mention.. Is it included in the febi kit because I'm not sure that I kept old parts from...
Strange one this is, can't you push the rear beam so that it opens up and create more space for the springs to fit? Std springs are taller so the beam is definitely designed to create a bigger gap
It used not to drink oil between services untill I tried many years ago the motul 300v. After 3-4k the dipstick showed minimum oil. And since then it started to use oil. That was a bit strange.
Anyway, I guess I should have been more careful when I dynoed the car last year, would been able to...
Hi guys,
I have seen this over the years (have the car since 2006) but thought it's not a big deal so far (still hope it's not!)
Seen this the other night most recently when a Porsche macan pushed me from behind, 2nd gear foot down and a cloud of smoke in his headlights was visible. Couldn't...
I have the exact same setup - gaz gha plus gold k tec mounts - and the suspensios knocks like sh*t!
I don't think the remaining holes will create a problem but I wold get them corrosion protected somehow before the ast.
Funny thing is that couple of mechanics looked at the car and weren't able...
I ve seen one clio in a hillclimb event running these calipers, it looked very much like a cup racer. And yes, it was in europe and a lhd car as well. Don't know any details though
Bump on this old thread..
After all.. People running 195 50 tyres for trackdays, is this size better handling wise versus thet 205 45 16 let's say?
Or is it purely a cost of tyres thing?
Cup racers run the 15's but are they for cost saving or does that size really performs better?
What I want...
Lol! I wanted some 15" alloys for winter and occasional trackdays, I really wanted something like 2118's but just couldn't find anything. Got these at a very low price so they are here to stay. The ultras are the road summer wheels
Hi all,
I got these valver alloys on my car since october. They were in pretty bad shape but couldn't decide on the colour at that time so sprayed them gold for a while.
Soon as the spring will come I will get them refurbished properly but my god I'm having a rough time deciding on the colour. I...
Just checked the headlights washer pump today and it looks like it doesn't receive any current. I plugged into it the other plug that feeds the windscreen pump and it works that way.
Has anyone had this issue? Electrical stuff is something I'm not too good at..
Thx!
